In this video I explain why you don't need any more car than a 2012 2.0 TDI Golf Bluemotion Technology. I drive this car on a daily basis and it's currently celebrating 122,000 miles and still feeling as good as ever!

Great video and couldn't agree more. Having come from a 2008 GT TDI Golf 170 manual, its been a game changer to go to a 4x4 MK6 era TDI with DSG. All the traction you need, and no more leg pump from endless gears in slow traffic. I'm at 315,000kms in that car now, been tuned to within an inch of it's life, and it's still going strong.

I have a ‘13 3 door. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned…been driving for 60 years. Comfort wise, 13 hours and 890 miles with only two fuel stops recently. A long day at 75+ mph. I was amazed at how energetic I felt at the end of the drive, not fatigued or particularly tired. Great seats and visibility, intuitive controls, Fender audio system and that great armrest…it truly does matter. Performance at any speed makes me smile. I’m doing a long term study of fuel consumption and thus far happy with 42 mpg in combined daily driving. I hope I can find another if this one ever wears out. Excellent video.

@@cyclonus01 except for one failure to start based on my leaving interior lights on accidentally and a drained battery, it’s never failed to start and go until it’s time to stop for the day. I too drive about 30,000 to 40,000 miles a year and live in the country where a failure of anything is a big deal. After that one incident, I purchased a high energy battery pack from Mallory and keep it under the passenger seat just in case. Every diesel I’ve ever owned has Glow Pugs to aid in starting and without electrical power, you’re gonna have problems with a cold start. I also have all periodic maintenance done by Volkswagen because they’re familiar with the cars. The owners manual addresses things that may seem unfamiliar. It’s like every Volkswagen I’ve ever owned, if you do your part it’ll work every time. I’ve had VW’s since 1964 and used them under all sorts of circumstances. They’re very good cars.

Mk6 golf is nice car to me it's still alot modren, alot better then the mk8 for sure, that looks like more of those new ugly ev ID cars then golf, they really messes up on mk8, but anyways, talking about screens and stuff I prefer the normal older screens in the dash just like this golf or other cars had built in dash also they do go out of date much quicker then and normal radio, now days people buy cars just because of these high tech and when it's 3 years old the vehicle feels out of date back in the days like 90s and 00s cars didn't go out of date even when they were 10-15 year old some still today feel good and not as outdated compared to a 2015 car, I like to have normal tech, like eletric seats, widows, side mirrors, heated mirrors, hested seats, etc nothing too fancy or over done and High tech crap.

1. You don't need to bother if you forget to turn off the heating in your exterior mirrors. After a couple of minutes, the heating gets turned off automatically by the car's electrical system. It will only get turned on again, if let's say you leave the button turned on, and next time you start the car, normally, the heating will turn on, again, just for a few minutes. It is just like when you turn on the heating in the rear windshield, to defrost it and after a few minutes, it will turn off automatically. 2. Soft close for the roof grabhandles is not new, at least at VW. It is there since the Golf Mk 4. 3. All Golf Mk 6 have that chrome line around the fog lights. It does not deppend on the level of equipment of the car. If you have fog lights, you have that chrome circles. 4. Floor gas peddal is on VW since the Golf Mk 5. Nothing new, again. As the Golf Mk 6 is sort of a facelift of the Mk 5 (same platform btw), VW kept the peddal types on this generation too. On the Mk 7 saddly they gave up on the floor gas peddal and restarted using the classic type.

@@lewisk5430 All I would say regard to tuning is, find a specialist, but before that, you will do much better, like I said, by keeping on top of servicing and maintenance. I see too many cars "modded" that drive terribly. You would be best served, spending the cash on regular fluid and filter changes, fresh tyres and well sorted running gear, engine turbo, gearbox, driveshaft, brakes, discs, wheels, can all let you down if they are defective in any way, and will offset any mod or tune. p.s. the internal on the mk6 GT TDI are not "like chocolate", but a few things to think about: the car is quicker than say a mk2 GTI 16v, it handles better, and that is way quicker than you need on the road. If you want to go to track days, you may be best served with a mk6 or 7 GTI or R.

If it’s not broken but they can’t prove it’s been done, then I’d ask the garage to knock the price off for the cambelt, new water pump and coolant change. Buy it.
