We call it "nest", but it can be holder, bracket etc.. this is not sold by VW as separate part, hence everyone calls it something different

I get a 01534 code. Left headlight motor is basically not working and I cant clear it or do basic settings. I'm assuming its jus the motor that is dead, I cant see any issues with the wiring.

If leveling motor fault given, first check the white plastic clip if it is intact or out of place. If it is broken, will give the same error. If intact, then, should be the motor itself.

Thanks for the video, do you know how can I diagnose the motor, I mean it is possible to connect it to a 12v source to try? what cables are + / -? regards

You can maybe use VDCS do diagnose it, here is a good one on Aliexpress for ~30eur.

Hello, do you know by any chance what motor goes in my 2006 Golf Plus AFS Xenon headlight? I connected a diagnostic tool and it says that both motors are dead. No condensation was inside the headlight and I want to preorder the motors together with some projectors. Just finished refitting bixenon projectors on a E39 2002 and megan 3. Amazing results!! Found this number in the catalogue but when I search it gives me couple of options with additional letters on the end. A,B... Keep up the good work and your videos are amazing!!!!

We have everything for this headlight. Some of them expensive due to the fact that they require stripping intact (working) headlights: xenonland.com/category/316/golf-5-xenon-ballasts-igniters-and-modules-2004-2008.html

What about fault code 02498? It's left low beam Reflector motor. Have you had any experience or fixes for this? The Reflector works as intended but the system deems a fault and returns the Reflector to the shut position. I assume it's the coil for it but I can't find parts etc or info. Any help would be amazing

02498 Left low beam reflector (v295) motor electrical fault. most probably as you said the coil is faulty. unfortunately the only way to repair is to find a donor headlight

Lovely girls, but: 1) On a Golf Mk 5 you don't have to remove the bumper to remove the headlight. 2) If you have an 07 or later Mk5, you will probably find that the levelling motor is nothing like this. The motor is box shaped and twists into place with a quarter turn. No screws. See 'Audi A2 headlight levelling motor removal'

We enjoyed your comments very much :)) 1. If you do not remove the bumper, you will risk to break the fixing tabs! Not coincidentally the VW workshop manual says to remove the entire headlight from the car for ballast/igniter. Just look at the tabs positions and you will understand what we mean. Or just look at VW workshop manual to see the correct way of headlight removal. 2. You are confusing the xenon headlight with halogen type headlights!!! All MK 5 golf xenon headlights has the METAL motor pictured! Not coincidentally Audi A2 do not have factory fitted XENON headlights option! The motor you are pointing is used only at halogen type headlights! no matter grey, chrome or other bezels. Please update your info and next time simply do not comment things that are far from...
