I was personally super afraid of damaging the airbag. Glad when I finally figured it out, but still wished someone had told me, that's why I made the video.

This helped me get a better sense of where the clip was, under the pillar. I still had to stick a small snake camera in to see what I was doing. A tool to do this (like the T10078) would cost $2.99 yet no one makes it. Very frustrating and probably countless damaged pillar pieces around the world.

Usad un destornillador para retirar la pieza y no romper el plástico. Para montar se quita la grapa del pilar y se instala todo junto a presión

Do you know which Golf mkiv has the plastic A-pillar clip? I've seen some videos where all the a-pillar clips are plastic. Would you know why?

I'm not sure, I've only worked at my car, which is 2002. It happens sometimes that the manufacturer changes the way something is assembled, for whatever reason. There would probably be a year from which onward it would be different. I think Golf mk5 has all plastic clips, so maybe some late mk4 might have them as well. I would just try pulling it out with moderate force, if you're not able, then it's probably the metal clip you see here, maybe take a small mirror to check or try feeling it with your hand...

I was able to slide the clip forward but I still can't get it off! Anyone with the same problem ? God I hate this clip so much right now

je možný, že je to na některých autech jinak 🤷‍♂️. nejsem nějaký odborník, ale zkusil bych se mrknout zrcátkem nebo tam nějak strčit mobil a natočit si to, jestli je to stejný.
