Got an R32. Still no regrets at all. Sticks to road like glue, all power gets utilised and sounds like no other. Thirsty for sure, some fun trips averaged 22- 25L/100km, but can avg 8L when driving it sensibly.

All golfs are pretty good. Weve had an r32 for about 8 years now. You never get bored of the sounds and its been very reliable. Also, its still worth almost what we paid for it, which makes it potentially a cheap car, overall.

R32 will always e the best, its more expensive, less economical, but the best car..

I’ve owned both, currently driving an 07 GTI 3 door manual. Bought it because a manual 3 door r32 wasn’t available. GTI better all rounder better handling, R32 car ide rather own.

yet, they still refer to the R32 as the uber Golf. Economics aside, I know which one I would, and did buy... am I biased? Of course, for good reason... :)

Then they took that wonderful 170ps 1.4TSI developed it further into 180ps for the 6r Polo GTI which turned it into a unreliable nightmare as took it too far.

Great video, but the GTI is definitely the best, great engine,quality and price .

yeah, most clips that were uploaded on this KZfaq channel in 2011 were actually produced 2009 or even earlier.

R32 too heavy, too expensive and doesn't deliver that much more performance. VW diesels? dieselgate!!! Of course the GTI is lovely but that 1.4 170bhp is very very special. They have been forgotten which is a shame because now smaller engine cars are really fashionable and rightly so. It sounds like a wonderful compromise.

David Hayes r32 heavy but still handles the best ;) i drive 2.0 tdi a3 now chipped to 180hp/410nm, amazing power. Will be buying the r32 next tho, amazing highway cruiser and the sounds..

Dieselgate is your argument? Any proof of Golf V dieselgate? On top of all it doesn't affect you in any way, nor it makes the engine bad in any way.
