I have had this car for nearly 3 months now, and done 4500+ km in it. Everyday it has started perfectly and take me to work with no problems. Only problem I have had so far is an airbag warning lamp light up sometimes. And I know we are now many happy ID.3 owners with only a few software issues experience. As prebookers we had agree to get a car not fully finished software wise, or we could have decided to wait till start of next year to get the car with finish software, most wanted their car now, and some thererfore get problems. That's part of be first mover! It's a great car to drive, well build, and use of light plastic materials is both to keep low weight and to make the car more eco-friendly when it's time to dispose it. Think about this before you judge a great mainstream car, one of many models we need to change to EV cars.

For me personally for that amount of money I can’t stand so much plastic. But some people don’t mind it. ID3 isn’t bad car. It’s a good EV. But for the same amount of money more leas you get Tesla model 3 which is a smart car and for me better value for money. Tesla will certainly hold more value as used car rather than ID3.

The DC cap is not here to prevent electrocution but to prevent corrosion of the pins if you are charging with only T2 during rain.

For this class of car 350-400 liters of trunk space is normal. Some cars like the Octavia and Civic are just bigger than normal. Focus, Astra, Megane, CEED ,Golf, Leon, A3, 1 series, A-class, i30, Corolla, Mazda 3, Ct200h all have between 350 and 400 liters. So the ID.3 is not small for it's class, it is just normal. Also hard plastics in the back is the case for many cars in this class. the hard plastics in the front are unacceptable though. Also in the brochure of the ID.3 Max it does say that the glovebox is illuminated and cooled. So maybe you need to have the car running? Or maybe it only goes on when dark?

They made the place for the mobilephone on purpose like that, so that you can't really look at it because you shouldn't while you're driving ;)

Thanks for the review. I like the car, but that range ~280km for 58kWh scares me - this means 20.7kWh/100km :( That's not the next step I would like to have from my Citigo iv.

My car has 400km and has 62kW (usable 58kW) . I charge it only to 80 percent and i get around 320 km

Had a drivetest with the ID3 1st edition in the lower spec (I would never consider buying the top spec ID3, as its price is close to a Tesla 3, which is in a different league) and was very disappointed by the interior. VWs are famous for the ergonomics and quality of their interiors, but it seems they screw up the ID3's. The infotainment is hard to use while driving, the screen behind the steering wheel offers very few info, there are no vents for the back passengers, the front middle vents freeze your elbow, the only sense of quality materials are on the steering wheel, but that is also annoying to use because of the touch "buttons". The drivetrain is good, but that doesn't compensate for the poor (tough spacious) interior. With all the cost cutting, I would have expected the car to cost around 25k euros, not 38k. Waiting for the Kia e-Niro to be available at the dealer. It seems to be an overall better car, with similar price as the ID3.

I agree. We just got Tesla arrive officially in Croatia 2 days after filling this. Entry model is cheaper.

Well depends on what you want. It might be the better car. But standard range + has less range and less refinement (wind noise etc.). The style of it is not for everyone either.

Actually this ID3 has range of 420 km while M3 SR+ has 430 km. Thats basically the same, but M3 has heat pump and new batteries than you can charge 20-100% while ID3 has old you need to keep in 20-80% range.

This car is the biggest disaster which Volkswagen made in a decade. It is extremely low quality vehicle, cheap plastic inside almost everywhere and is less reliable car you can have. You never know if you get to work or not, it depends on the cars mood. I don’t even mention the software issues, charging problems and price which in UK is much much higher then Leaf or Ionic.
