Brilliant. Just happened to me. Watching this video outside the car because I can lock it, open the boot but not unlock the doors. Pried the fob open, removed battery, cleaned contacts, put back together, doors opened. Life saver. Thanks. 👍

Fabulous. Thank you. I didn't realise the fobs had a battery. Thought they charged off the car as some others do. You're a life saver. Also put a new battery in the second remote and it's working again. So went from no keys today to two keys. Thanks again.

I can’t believe this actually worked. It seemed like one of those responses you get from the IT department at work, but it actually worked for me, my key wasn’t working at all and now it works. The range is still a shambles, but it actually locks now

Thank you, it worked. I think this works because of keyfob restarting, rather than pins being dirty/oxidised. Mine were perfectly clean, anyway, this worked perfectly.

Amazing video. Probably saved $30-40 on car key service. The contacts did not even look dirty, but after cleaning them with alcohol, the unlock button started working again.

This issue happened to me today. The fob worked when I opened my car to go to the supermarket. It worked when I was putting my groceries in my car. I just had to lock it again as I had to throw some rubbish so I walked to a garbage can and walked back to my car, and when I went back to my car ready to go home and that's it, It would not open. Google is my friend in these kinds of cases and luckily brought me to your video. Also, it was weird for me as I saw that I could lock or open the boot with the first and second buttons, but not to open my car. Anyway, I did what you showed on the video, and it worked. I had to do all of this while in the car park, dark and minus 0.. thanks

Thanks for saving me hundreds at the dealership. Such an easy solution for such a big worry! It was exactly my problem, The lock and trunk buttons work while the unlock is not. After penetrating the inside of the car from the trunk and opening the back seat handle (A trick that I learned from the "educational" movie "Nobody") I managed to open the back door. And on the other video Adnan says there is actually a hidden key slot !!! Thank you.

Thank you so much for the video!!! Only the unlock button on my remote was not working, and I thought it was the button that need to be replaced. Bought an offbrand remote on eBay and got a $300 quote for reprogramming it. Tried rubbing the battery connector, and it really worked out!

Not a bad video. I have the same issue but the weird thing is the spare key fob did the same thing and that's been seldom used. I'm going to change my batteries just in case as well. After all they are almost 11 years old. Just a note, the actual key that come out of the fob is only used for locking and unlocking the door lock manually. It is not used for starting the car. The actual fob will still start the engine.
