Thanks for the detailed video. Truth be told, my wife's Polo Maxx that is basically the CLS Vivo motor over-heated last week. The welsh plug on the head rusted through. You saved my bacon in this video by showing me how to find TDC on the crank. Keep it up, will support and promote your vids. Well done!!

@@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 Itching for some videos. I love your attention to detail as well as your patience sharing tips. I'm still studying engineering n I'm building my toolbox. Started with a gedore set with tons of other goodies maybe a tool review will be another awesome video. I think my next order will be some timing tools. Maybe a video on safety like jacking a car and types of jack stands will also be another good addition.....keep these videos separate for more frequent but enjoyable activities.....maybe a nice personal project as well

you could have made a wet compression test by dripping a couple of drops of engine oil onto the cylinders to see if compression improves. this way you could eliminate the cylinderrings and cylinders which due to the oil are now sealing better.

Even though I am a very amatuer mechanic ( brake pads, shocks etc, minor stuff type of guy ) I feel confident that should I ever need to tackle a head gasket job this is the only video out of the 1000s on KZfaq that I would refer to. Quick question though if you have the time : do you think it is possible to remove a timing belt without the specific timing tool ? I heard of guys who cut the belt down the middle and use that to keep the timing in place while putting the new belt on. I am very sceptical though. Anyway you have given me the confidence with your videos to tackle more harder jobs and next time a clutch or something big goes wrong I am going to take the chance as your videos inspire me. I know you obviously dont make money with these vids so thank you for your time and effort.

Thanks for supporting my channel with your visits and interaction Declan, I truly appreciate it tremendously and I am very happy you find value in it. , as to your question, there is a right and wrong way of doing things, with limited experience it is better to take the more reputable person's advice, if special tools were designed to complete a job, make use of it as it was designed for a purpose. Do it right or don't do it at all.
@drevil8519

Not gonna help you cutting the belt cause you still need to remove the head, meaning the cam pully will come off when you remove the head.

Hi thanks for the videos. Your content is flawless. Im actually driving the same car 2014 model. Im curious as to how this happened, the car should give a warning when the coolant is too low, or when the temperature rises up too high. What went wrong?

Good evening... I'm looking for some advice I'm driving a golf 5 2.0 FSI .... I replaced both coolant sensors and did a coolant flush, for some time it ran well, but today it started running hot again...

Hi Shimeem, it is a fairly easy task, 6 bolts with size 30 Torx heads is all it takes to remove and it is easily accessed, you do have to remove the injector rail and disconnect all pipes and electrical connections too, but this is also very straightforward. Good luck Gary

Hi Gary, my VW Polo Sedan 2005 is leaking water at the bottom of engine. I added water to the coolant and it juts flows out completely and instantly. Could this be a water pipe at the back of the engine or a gasket or a sealant. I am no mechanic but have two exact same VW POlo's and would be good to learn things about ese cars
@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790
@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 Жыл бұрын
You do not indicate what type of engine is in this Polo, but my guess is a water pump or pipe running from the water pump to the flange on the rear of the cylinder head.

How do you lock the crank not to turn anti clock wise to loosen the crank bolt?
@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790
@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 Жыл бұрын
You Have to use the crank locking pin to loosen the crank bolt in the opposite direction before you dismantle the timing chain system, it is usually the 1st thing one does on this job.

@sibonisomtshali6880 Жыл бұрын
@@RickyFleven hi brother, I was still losing water and the gauge would come on. Although the thermo gauge doesn't go over 90 Deg. Coz I removed the thermostat in the housing, to monitor the cause. I have been driving with no Thermostat, although I bought a new Thermo housing ready to install it. My mechanic suggested I wait a bit before installing. Until a friend suggested that I clean my radiator as well, he discovered that the pipes didn't have a constant temperature. Hence the return pipe was overflowing my water bottle. Water wasn't circulating to the radiator. Ever since I removed and cleaned the radiator , I have not lost water. Just dropped the level, but it's been there only 2day I topped it up with the Coolant
