You omitted to mention the need to provide a temporary, second 12v battery supply to maintain the onboard computer & radio circuits whilst the old battery is replaced. Unless this is done, This would require the electronic & radio circuits to be recommissioned & requires a password for the radio, which can be avoided if the temporary supply is provided!

The radio is coded to the car when new. It is not affected by battery change. The only time you need a code is if the radio is put in a different car.

Won't disconnect the battery completely like this lose your radio code keys?

The radio is coded to the car. Should not be affected by battery change.

@@philipashton1443 What I did was I connected a small 12 Volt battery in parallel when I changed it just to be on the safe side. A few years before this my Fiat Doblo battery went totally flat overnight when one of the battery cells failed,after the new battery was fitted the radio prompted me for a 4 digit code before I could turn it on. I had owned that car from new so it wasn't a problem, the number was on a sticker in the radio manual. That is why I asked as this time I had no radio manual as I bought this car second hand. Anyway, all past history now.
