Great job! Good to see Bajas making a comeback. They used to be a frequent sight on the roads here in NZ but now we just don't see them anymore.

@@VWJawbreaker could you baby offer me some friendly advice I have two Beatles one a beetle truck and another is a standard Beetle for my kid my issue is I own a new mig welder but don't know how to use it I have tried welding before and did a terrible job burnt lots of holes and severely sunburned by face. Do you have any advice on me getting these cars welded together? Or do you possibly know of somebody in Nixa Missouri or near it?

Great update!!! Nice how it revs nicely Cool story here, I calibrated the fuel tank float for the gauge? This way… when it was dry empty? I poured in half a liter fuel and drove around (with an extra fuel bottle with me) When it died out due to zero fuel? I set that to be a line below empty… poured 1liter and went home College days = this insured me I’d get home cuz gas money back then was rare I barely tried full tank due to Zero money 😂

In my case my dad learned some tricks from me on Bug stuff much the same with you and then Levi learning so always awesome… Downside my ‘69 Bug he has the keys haven’t driven it in a year… why? Cuz he says “his” engine is in it so he drives lol which is true we dropped his 1600dp kad motor in it to try while his 79 got painted lol

Sweet Baja! Love it gary! Hey, Got my SCAT Bus shifter installed in my ‘74 RatRod. The speed shifter was too deep of a spacer. Not sure why SCAT uses a different depth ball than the EMPI/Hurst style shifter you used but I just jimmy rigged some washers in until I had the correct depth and adjusted until all gears went smoothly in and it’s awesome! Looks and feels like it was meant to be! I love reaching up to change gears! Thx for your help man! Sincerely, gary

There been some stuff going on so I haven’t been able to work on the Sickxty. I bought this Baja like it is, we didn’t chop it up, just saving one that was neglected.

Great job on the baja! Especially adding the USB charging ports. You just don't see those in a bug! Any plans for a beef'd up motor?

At what point of building an engine do you have to bore both the block and head is it anything beyond an 88 mm piston?

Yes, bigger than 88 slip in jugs you’ll need machine work done. I don’t recommend 88’s as the walls are too thin and can make your engine overheat easier.
