The album received acclaim from music critics, topped the charts in Australia and the United Kingdom, and entered the top ten charts in Belgium, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. It was shortlisted for the 2022 Mercury Prize.

Brilliant ! Sime Bowie and joy division guitar riffs in there .takes me back to late 70 s . Phenomenal album for today .

Heard wet dream and so thought I’d listen the the album. Infectious voice, good guitar licks & melodies and although some tracks sound a bit the same it’s a grower for sure👍

I agree. Wet Leg and Wolf Alice are the future of this genre in the UK. Totally refreshing to see them (and others)amongst all of the blandness.

Being 52 year old I guess I’m not the aimed demographic, but hearing a band that sounds like a mix of 90’s Brit pop/ Chicago grunge/ with a splash of punk thrown in it doesn’t get better. For me it’s as if Alanis Morissette and Blur got together and brought Jagged little Pill and Parklife together then threw in some 2020’s sassiness for good measure. The break up angst set against punk cheekiness creates great singalongs, there some cheese in there but the album is enhanced by it, not cheapened. It’s 11 out of 10, 6⭐️s out of 5⭐️s from me, if there was ever a female version of the inbetweeners this album would be guaranteed to be on the soundtrack.

cliche after cliche. cf. Throwing Muses debut 40 years ago. now that was great chick rock. f these ones. and the critics and industry oafs creamed all over it. know-nothings are among us.

Why can’t u love both? I bought the first Throwing Muses vinyl offerings at the time and all the other great 4AD stuff like pixies (which this definitely has influences of). This is obviously more poppy but is gloriously refreshing to hear amongst most of the shite out there! Love the ‘Fat Skier’ - love this album too 👍
