Lots of ppl speak multiple languages lol and considering Gladys is from HK and it's WAY easier for Cantonese speakers to learn Mandarin than a non native speaker like GG, it's just funny to see a native Chinese speaker having more difficulties speaking the language than the language learner does 😂

If you really know about this language, you will know Cantonese is not Chinese, especially the Hong Kong- Cantonese. It’s because their grammar is so much different. We can’t find any Chinese novels are written by HK-Cantonese grammar, but only in Hong Kong. If the Hongkongers writing in Cantonese grammar, the Chinese people who speak mandarin absolutely can’t understand. It’s just similar to Japanese Kanji and Korean Hanja, they use the same characters but they don’t really know each other’s meaning of the words.

@@TheETchild there is not one 'Cantonese grammar'. It easily spans colloquialisms to literary Chinese, and classical Chinese. Eg. you can read any Chinese text in Cantonese, and if you want to sound bookish you can walk around speaking like that.

@@jonslct don’t lie yourself, you know the truth that oral and written in Cantonese are different. If we use Cantonese grammar for writing that can’t translate to any language. That’s why you mandarin speaker absolutely don’t know what we talking about in Cantonese in writing and never can join our discussion on internet.
