DIY removal of a boot lock from a 1994 e280 w124, a little fiddly but very easy to DIY. 8mm and 10mm sockets/spanners needed. Cheers Instagram ➡ FordMercGuy For Bonus stuff and behind the scenes

Thanks for the quick tip, I pulled the assembly out together and weaseled the rod out of the latch. The lock and latch slide apart on 3 plastic pins. If you can pull the latch part up off the lock section it's easy to remove. The 3 bolts hold it together. With the rod all the way to the side. I just put a short video up.

Gread video, thanks video, unfortunately mine is not coming out. The cutout on the top is around 5 mm to low, so the upper part of the lock cannot pass. I tried everything.

Hey it’s been a while but do you think you could pull the latch and lock assembly out and take it apart on video? I’m trying to figure out how the whole mechanism works so i can fab up some parts for my mercedes

Hi mate unfortunately I don't have a spare one to tinker with. But since you are doing some custom work see if you can locate a spare parts one to disassemble and fiddle with

@@FordMercGuy thanks for the reply, yeah i’ll probably buy a spare and mod it but i wanted to have a deeper understanding of the mechanism before i start, no worries though.
