W163 ML320 Aftermarket Central Locking Installation

3 жыл бұрын***2002 and newer may have a different lock and unlock setup that utilizes a single wire instead of two separate ones. In that case, I’m not sure what to do, unfortunately.
I installed the remote central locking system on a 2001 ML320 with a dead key fob. The transponder on the MB key FOB still works. This will NOT fix any start error issues, just the ability to lock and unlock the car with a remote. The kit can be bought on amazon for $15, and you can also get another kit with a fold out key and transfer the blade to the new FOB. hi I heard from another advisor that you control by connecting one line, but your video shows that there are separate open and closed lines. If you hang the open signal resistance on one of the wires and give the closed signal, it will be controlled. First of all, your video helped me a lot. Thank you for the good video.

hi, so from my understanding, each lock and unlock has its own open line. when each line is connected to ground, then the circuit is complete and the car locks or unlocks. I connected all three ground wires from the module (unlock, lock, and power) together because they all need to go to ground. Basically, all I am doing is connecting the white lock and red unlock wires to the module, then connecting all of the grounds together and connecting the module to 12V power. What I understand is that it applies a negative signal to the line? The module I have cannot generate a negative signal, so I think I have to use a relay.

Thank you, this helped a lot. Oddly for my W163 2001 I had to wire the yellow wires to negative (as was done here) but also the orange & orange/black wires to positive for it to work. I saw the same thing done in a Russian video. Weird.

Be aware that on 2002 and up you only have one wire for lock unlock and you need to install a resistor on the same cable.

Where does the green wire that is connected to the white wire of the clasp come from?

The green wire is just an extension of the white wire from the new harness because the wires are too short.

On the first wire that you splice into, what is the green wire that is also spliced into it. Is that the green from the new harness, or from the factory harness? Thank you.

The first green wire is an extension wire because the new harness wiring is too short. So the white wire from the center console is connected to the green wire, which then connects to the white locking wire from the new harness.

This is the brand I used, but there are plenty of similar models: FICBOX Universal Vehicle Security... www.amazon.com/dp/B07PT7RVHW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. Just make sure the wiring diagram has a central locking option.

With that installation it only works for a short time, when a time passes it no longer closes and opens ... I don't know what I'm doing wrong?

Maybe double check your fuses? I have successfully done it on 3 ML with no issues for the past 6+ months
