I've been hankering after riding one of these little beauties for a while so when the chance came up for a ride as my dealer MOT'd my bike, I grabbed it with both hands. So what do I think? Watch the video to find out!

I am a big classic bike fan and the Kawasaki w800 is the only bike I'd buy the train being it's classic to the core and it's a Kawasaki so it'll keep going on for years to come Good walk around review of the bike mate enjoy the bike and I wish you many more happy and safe miles ahead 👍

It's embarrassing watching myself after all these years, but funnily enough it's still a bike that works for me.

Good review of the W800, it was interesting to note what you said about the side stand, I actually thought that myself when I purchased one myself until I realized that all you needed to do is lift the foot peg up with the heel of your boot and it's no problem at all.Having done about 10000km now I can only concur with most of the things you said except about the cruising and the mirrors other than that your pretty much spot on.

Apologies for the late reply the mirrors themselves are okay but there is a vibration problem with them when the bike is in 4th gear at around about 3000 rpms which is about 70kmph which I must admit is a bit annoying but i have found if you put the bike into 5th gear that fixes it.As for cruising I find it one of the most comfortable bikes I have ever ridden,the ribbed seat is just brilliant ridden 400 km no problems no sore butt or back you will get about 270 km out of a tank. Cheers Chips

Very nice review! I'm gonna buy that beauty very soon, and I was searchig for a top box... That one you have is really what I was looking for!!! can you please tell me which brand it is and where can I find it? Are there saddleboxes that fit W800, same style as this top box? Thank you

Thanks for the info on the foot peg. What's your view on the mirrors and cruising?

Hi, do you think that the w800 would make a good beginner bike? as first bike ever. Thanks.

You mentioned that the bike is buzzy to the point that makes mirrors useless. That would be a deal-breaker to many bikers. Thanks for mentioning it! You forgot to mention a great feature that many will appreciate (real bikers), which is a CENTER-STAND! Not many bikes have it these days. For some reason you chose not to mention the gearbox performance. For those who commute, a silky-smooth gearbox is more important than a comfortable seat or great looks of a bike. I assume it's loud and clunky.! I'll buy a Gladius instead and design my own center stand.

That's fine, I'm not recommending this or a... Gladiolus. Gearbox is fine, typically Japanese. One thing that might mitigate against this bike being a commuter is the finish. I saw one brought into a dealer that had been ridden in all weathers and it looked pretty rough. I'd actually consider the Moto Guzzi V7 as an alternative as it has low maintenance shaft drive. Best, Andy

Just curious about the fuel consumption, which in the tests I've read is given at 50 odd MPG. Pretty abysmal I would have thought given the level of performance- my old 750 Honda could almost manage this with a little restraint!
@CornishMotorcycleDiaries7 жыл бұрын
Well I can't give an accurate figure, but I would have thought between 50-60mg, more towards the latter on a longer run. Unfortunately the laws of physics are pretty immutable: to go so fast you need a given amount of energy.

I get 58 to 62 out of mine, and I do use the performance
