I’m no truck driver but I am a car guy and I think the 990 is going to grow on people. It’s a good looking 21st century truck with better creature comforts than the 900. That said the 900 will always be the better looking truck. I’m 34 and I still look at big trucks go by, I still find it amazing that there’s a machine able to pull that many tons down the road. Andy you should do more test drives with “just the noise” meaning just the sounds of the truck.

Lame video? I don't think so!! Trolls and nay-sayers can say what they want, but those of us who like to see how Kenworth trucks look from the drivers view this is the best way to see it before buying one. You, Andy, want to do more like this in the future, that is entirely YOUR choice. Me, personally, I like this style of video and what it shows.

When I sat in the W990 at MATS you can definitely tell the difference between it and the W900. Definitely have to be aware of what's in front and to the right of you.

I hope you'll do more videos like this one! Some of us come to your channel just to admire the trucks and a big part of that is seeing and listening to them drive. If you could get clean audio of the engine I would listen to it all day.

Actually Andy i love the fact that youre driving the product. It gives us a chance to see it on the road..how it reacts. I would add if you can Go Pros on different parts again to see the truck in the real world.

Instead of turning on and turning off the engine break constantly you can just go into Cummins settings and have engine break delay set for .7 sec Which gives you enough time to shift the gear.

I'm not a truck driver but do enjoy seeing semi trucks. I think the shifting was good. I know if a semi truck has a regular manual then you have to either match the speed or do double clutching, because of it being a constant mesh transmission. I'm a nurse by occupation. But I enjoy these videos and I think that you did great with this one. Do another one like this.

Would love to get a chance to drive the W990. I'm sure it'll be similar to my T880, just a longer hood and a different turning radius with the set forward front axle. Thanks for taking the time to drive and share with us. I know our dealership doesn't have a W990 coming in until next year. So hopefully I'll get a chance to take it out for a drive.

Nice Video Andy, I like the W990 but I like the W900 much more. Joe Flege is a cool guy and I think he world never change his nice W9 for a W990. The TV Show in Germany called " Asphalt Cowboys". Keep up the good work an nice greetings from Germany 👍

Honestly Andy i've teamed on the Alaska Hwy with drivers i wish could shift as well as you. Just remember when your hood is that high it makes traffic look closer to you than say a 680 .

not a lame video truck looks a lot like a 9900 international my opinion i would take the 9900 with the x15 i like the cab lay out better .more room inside easier to work on under the hood as well but good video guy not lame thanks for the ride along.

Im a tall guy about 6'4. What can you do about wanting to recline the driver’s seat but the cabinet is in the way. Is there any way around this ??

I have a suggestion, You should start building some of your trucks with the 565hp/2050 torque, I bet they would sell better than the 1850 units.

Like the video, you drove fine No way is that interior as nice as the B-cab interiors. Way too much plastic, not enough padding and insulation. No Aerodyne vista windows. They may have brought fleet owners in for feedback when designing the new generation cabs, but they were clearly engineered to be low cost in construction over everything else.

so they're basically a truck with all the blind spots of a nice w900 but all the ugliness of an aero truck. I'll give it to Western Star a 4900ex has the hood and the widecab and the comfort but is much nicer looking than that. Dissapointed with KW on this one I'll keep the w900 thanks
