Every guitar player that I’ve ever seen live has always inspired me to practice more. Like Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Roy Clark, Eddie Van Halen and so on. But then I saw Doyle Dykes for FREE! at a clinic. I sat there in the front row with my mouth open. When it was over I seriously considered giving up playing guitar. But I couldn’t I love it too much. So I bought the Virtuoso Fingerstyle Guitar book by Mr. Dykes and set out to learn Wabash Cannonball. What a workout. I’ve been practicing it for months and I’ve barely made a dent. But that’s okay,He’s made me a better player. And I want to thank you sir. When I get home from work I play the guitar not the TV. And when I finally started feeling better about my guitar playing, I saw Tommy Emmanuel live. And the whole thing started over again. 😂

Doyle, you always amaze me with the number of voicings you can get out of a single guitar. The subtle little bends to make this iconic song sound like crying steel. The basses are thundering much like a stand up bass, and of course the hot picking of this recognizable melody line. Great Job, Doyle.
