☆ Hey everyone, Michelle here! After working with this tablet for quite some time now, here is my updated review of the Wacom Intuos Small Drawing Tablet. Thank you for taking the time to put this video together. Just got the CTL-6100WL-JKO-AX (medium 2018). In Photoshop, have you notice a "delay" between the moment you press with the stylus and the appearance of the color on screen? There's also this "circle animation" that comes up when I press and hold the pen down? That is not documented anywhere? This delay makes it hard to draw with any kind of precision, in my experience, so far. But you seem to have gotten over it?

Sometimes there can be a delay, but most of the time it isn't noticeable to me. In terms of color, I have noticed that if I don't exactly press the correct pixel and perhaps at bit to the side of a line/color I am trying to get the color from, the brush will 'eyedrop' the color of the pixel fading (a color not normally visible). The circle happens for me mostly when I am trying to use the tablet when too zoomed out on the canvas. Annoying at times yes, but I have gotten used to picking either the largest color source as possible when eye dropping colors. Let know if any of that makes sense haha.

@@ChelleMishe Thank you for taking the time to respond. Turns out there was a "tiny circle" that kept appearing on the canvas, in Photoshop EVERYTIME I started to paint with the Brush... which created a "delay" between the moment I clicked the pen and color appearing on the canvas. Turns out I was not the only one running into this hardship. A quick trip to Wacom Tablet Properties to uncheck "Use Windows Ink" and problem solved!!

I’ve only used it with Adobe softwares like photoshop and Adobe animate. I know there are some good free programs as well, i just haven’t tried them

Can you provide a beginner course or tutorial on how to use the tablet? Like a basic mock drawing guide? I want to get my daughter into it but there aren't any videos out there. Something as simple as, "Lets draw a princess".... ? Would be so cool and helpful.

Hey.. Thats a really great insight! Could you tell me how far does the nib from the touchpad is detected and shows up the location on the screen?

Actually..you can hold the pen up to about an inch off of the touchpad for it to show up on screen!

I’ll make a video soon kinda outlining how I’m going into it, but I would recommended starting by getting comfortable drawing multiple frames of the same drawing, and from there getting comfy drawing digitally. Well that goes for 2D if that’s what you’re interested in!

It was a while back when I first downloaded the software, and I have since moved on from it. But I believe it wasn’t trial, if I remember correctly, you can use it as long as you need. You can always contact Wacom customer service to double check though!

I am getting frustrated because I am not able to easily trace stuff. I know its kind of "cheating" but it helps me improve my skills. Do you have any tips to make it feel like you are actually drawing on screen? I got my tablet for christmas, lost of stylus, but my new stylus just came. I am a lefty. Do you have any tips or things that you think will help? I am stuck and I really want to use it because it was expensive and I don't want my parents to think I don't like it!

No worries, keep practicing! I have seen people take a really thin piece of paper to imitate the feeling over their tablet.

Yes! But oftentimes that is fixed if i zoom into the space I’m trying to work in

If you're looking for a free software I would highly recommend GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP). They have regular updates and it works just as well as Photoshop really once you get used to it!

If the left hand is better for you, there are ways to customize the orientation and button settings to make it a bit easier for you! I would contact Wacom about any specific needs and what would be the best for you!

I know this is an Wacom Intuos review, but I would like to read your suggestion I have send my query to the wacom sales team 2 days ago but still no call received. I am going to join University again for my Masters in computer science. My primary use will doing for writing a lot of notes. You can expect to me write 3-4 pages every day and couple of diagrams for more clarity. And in exam time a lot more. This is will be going to be straight for at least 2 years. Also do the size of active area where we write on tablet while taking notes affect the writing speed. Thank You Vikas Poonia

If you’re going to use it just for notes regular tablets with stylus may work better compared for pen tablets like Wacom Intuos which is meant for drawing.

Yeah of course! I would go ahead and try to see Bluetooth was working, and from there go ahead and use the cord, because it charges it whenever it’s plugged in as well.
