My experience with the Wacom Intuos Pro Paper after 1 year of usage + review + how it works.

Tip: pressing the button twice will create a layer within a document. You can, then, export it as a layered .PSD file.

A very nice review! Just one small correction at 2:35 - actually the ink pen does have pressure sensitivity (8192 levels). I agree that the lines look pretty much the same width, but this a matter of how the Inkspace software is configured internally.

do you have to use the pen for the tablet to register the drawing into digital art? will it not register it with just the pencil? do you have to use a specific type of paper?

Hi @RapidFireArt i own this marvellous pad but am new to digital drawing. Could you please tell me how you color-in your drawing like you do in 4:24- 4:44? I know this is not a tutorial on colouring, but if you could give me a few easy starter tips for settings, layers, opacity etc that would be great!!

Hi - this looks great. When the drawing is exported from InkSpace as a psd ... is it Photoshop or the Tablet/InkSpace that governs the resolution? For example when I scan my drawings now I set the resolution to 600DPI so they can be printed on items much larger than A4.

She discusses differential pressure using the Stylus through the end of the video, including differential stroke size applied in Adobe Photoshop at 6:20. Overall a great product review here.

Have you tried the iPad Pro 12.9 1 or 2 with the artist program Procreate, drawing with the iPencil, it doesn't require as many steps and you only carry the iPad Pro and iPencil and as far a the traditional part, you are by hand and choice what you use like HB, 2B, H2 pencil, it write in those values and so on and draw directly into electronics screen. The only difference is that the Apple product may cost you a little more, depending which one you buy, as far memory size. But remember that in the long run the cost of buying paper, nib replacement and the up and cost of the paper and storage space you'll need for you paper drawings.

Thanks for the recommendation Vic101able. It sounds cool! 😊 I've never tried that because I don't own any apple products and don't have the need for an ipad at the moment. Maybe I'll get my hands on it in the future! You mentioned "[the ipad/ipencil] doesn't require as many steps" -- The thing about the Intuos Pro Paper is that i GET to draw on paper 😊 I always prefer making initial sketches in traditional pencil and paper first, as those are my roots so having it integrated into this tablet improves my workflow. I would have to scan my pencil drawing into the computer otherwise, or if I'm on-the-go, I actually take a picture of the sketch with my phone and send it to my computer haha. It's true that there are extra costs such as nibs (those are gonna run out pretty fast) and paper, but I'm already using paper anyway :P

No, the pen itself is linked to the tablet so you will have to go online and buy ink replacements for the pen. I believe the tablet itself already comes with three replacements though.

No, you need to use a computer with all Graphics tablets. The only time you dont is when the wacom's a computer. E.g the mobile studio.

There are 2 versions. Intuos pro paper edition comes with pen. Intuos pro does not, but u can buy pen to use with that version

The regular edition is just the tablet and stylus. Paper edition comes with the clip, paper and ink pen.

The Intuos Pro is basically the same thing as the Intuos Pro Paper Edition without all the fancy stuff like the ink pen, the clip for the paper, etc. Wacom also sells these additional items separately so that you can turn the Intuos Pro into the paper edition. The fine tip pen used for drawing on the paper is $100 by itself, not including the ink refills. and the paper clip is around $50. I'm not sure what other features it has as of right now because I don't currently own one, but from what I've seen cost wise, it'd be more feasible to just get the Paper Edition rather than buying all the extra parts. I've been seriously considering buying one for myself. The medium size seems like its a pretty good size for most artists. It's about $400, but if you get it at Best Buy, you can go on a 12-month payment plan if you own the Best Buy credit card. They won't charge any interest as long as you pay it back within that 12-month period. If you're over 18 and you have a job, it's a great idea because you would only be paying about $33 a month and there's no interest if you pay it all back within a year.

Personally I find the paper edition a big failure. First of all the driver to use it very often has conflict that make the pen not working properly and secondly it is not consistent as workflow. If you decide to work with the tablet then use it on your computer. If you want to make a sketch use a a paper and scan it later. The idea of recording what you are doing on your wacom to save the time of using a scanner is not worth it the additional money you have to spend for paper edition. I purchased it and basically never used it. I suggest to buy Intuos Pro Large because it is a great device but I do not recommend Paper edition...it is a waste of money and many times you cannot even use it due the driver issue.

Just a note, they lent this to you over a YEAR ago? Shouldn't you return it? Are you getting commission? NIBS: The issue is the supply of rubbish tips and the fact that the surface wears down (!) after a while. I would have thought a solid surface would have years of stability, and would be part of the design, like those nice smooth kitchen cooktops. And you would think the engineers would come up with a non-destructible nib for heaven's sake! If I spend a packet on a digital tablet, I know the stylus will be a facsimile of a pencil. I accept that, but to have to constantly buy new nibs? No thanks. Wacom can make a non-destructive nib, you bet they can. Very sad that people are trying to work around this issue of pressure and nib replacement. You are silly to keep paying for these nibs. If fewer people spent mony on nibs, you can bet they would fix the problem quick start.

Well this is kind of useless product. I mean not really useless but...you are paying so much for waht it is just a ink pen. Scanners are cheap and fast, so i dodnt see why pay so much more for what does it do. By using this Undo function is useless.
