Hi! I am an MBA and a marketing professional in India with 5-6 years of work experience. My CRS score is low because of my age(30+). So Getting a study permit is the only way out for a PR..Therefore, m thinking of applying for a 1 year pgd in digital Marketing from a DLI. I would say work culture is very good here, we have never been expected to over work and if we do they usually compensate employees for that! Overall good work life balance is one of the strongest reason for us to stay in Canada.

Means if any marketing or sales professional not able to complete the sales than will he not even get the basic salary.or the system is like there is a basic pay and incentive pay. Incase a professional have done normal sales target but do not meet the expected target design by company for that particular month than that employee get only basic salary and not incentive amount...?

Sales like any other country is dependent on the targets. You earn commission over and above your base pay whereas marketing would have their own KRAs not really sales conversion

It’s not very easy to get a job but at the same time there are no dearth of jobs too. You have to keep trying for jobs in order to get into your own field. You can switch to a marketing role by probably doing a course in marketing and then build an experience in that field. As per your current job role, it seems you would be in a different NOC code. For marketing it’s usually 1123.

@@soumyasahay5700 doesn’t the college guide you with the internships? I’m not a 100% sure how you’d get a Canadian internship being in Paris. There are non paid apprenticeship program on portals like Acadium, you can check that.

I think digital marketing is here to stay, don’t think it’s gonna go. With traditional marketing being so expensive and technology changing on such a rapid pace, a mix of both traditional and digital marketing would be the way to go.

What used to be a talk of town just a year back is vanished and is rapidly changing duno what the future but I guess all we can do is be optimistic and adapt with the environment... Do managers pester you, Get behind your ass? I personally dont like my seniors to sit on my shoulder, keeping eye on me. I like to do it on my way, my style, my method to get to result. Not compromising Work. How are boss there and relationships ?

I m planning for Sept intake.. I have a 3 year graduate degree and working in digital marketing department since two years in India.

I have done MBA in marketing and I have 2 years experience in sales profile but now I am planning to do digital marketing course because I want to change my profile. Can u pls suggest whether studying in Canada for the course would be helpful in getting job or should I do course in India and then try jobs in Canada??

If you want to eventually settle in Canada, doing a diploma/degree course in Canada would actually help as you’ll get additional points for studies too when you file for your PR application.
