(Part 3) Redington has done a good job with the fit of their latest line of waders. And then there is the custom option. If needed (for an extra fee) Simms can custom build any of their USA made waders with a bootie to fit a person’s needs. Travis (owner of Gorge Fly Shop) knows this well as he wears a custom foot Simms wader. Gorge Fly Shop has great experience handling these orders for many customers over our 20 years in business.

(Part 2) Simms even makes a couple production size waders with different size booties to accommodate a few more people’s needs. Examples are the Simms G4 Pro, G3 Guide and Guide waders. Simms builds the large and large long wader sizes with a 9-11 bootie as well as a 12-13 bootie. Sometimes you’re lucky and find a particular brand that fits a person better than others such as the Redington’s you mentioned.

Hi Fish Man, (Part 1) You brought up a valid question that we didn’t cover in this video. Foot (bootie) size. Too tight and they are uncomfortable and can cut off circulation or too loose and they can be difficult to get in your boot and have a fold in them which may eventually result in a worn leaking bootie. As you say most booties correlate with the wader size and for most this works fine.

Hi I recently just bought a pair of Simms G4 Pro’s in XL. I’m 5’10 and weigh 205 pounds. They seem a smidge big and hoping that’s not the case. Hoping to get a response back in order to help me out. I like to wear extra gear for Winter Steelhead fishing so I put into consideration getting an XL for that reason too. But looks baggy on me

Hi, Very nice video. What about the wader booties? How much is too big on these? Typically there seems to be a direct correlation between wader size and the foot size of the bootie. I'm stout so need a bigger wader, but often the neoprene is too big. Granted you can still wear them, but was curious what the "pro" says about this. I have found a pair of Redington that do fit me perfectly and are long like you suggest, but it took me a while. Other than going custom what is correct?

they all leak. And simms refuses to put booties on their waders that are big enough.

Here in UK there is an expert called ' Diver Dave ' who repairs waders and tests waders for manufactures.....he says that having a wader too long is not a good thing! This can actually result in oremature wear. He says you need to have the waders exactly the right size if you want them to last.....this video seems to suggest if you have anything longer ir bigger then its all great.......no its not
