In late June, 2024, I waded a central Ohio river. I was looking for smallmouth bass, but generally looking for anything that would bite. I ended up catching 11 fish of 5 species: 4 bluegill, 3 smallmouth, 2 green sunfish, 1 northern sunfish, and 1 tiny largemouth bass.
I fished with an ultralight rod and caught the fish on 3 different lures: a 1/20 oz. beetle spin, a 1/64 oz. trout magnet jig head with a 1 inch Gulp Alive! Minnow, and a 1/30 oz. Z-Man ShroomZ jig head with a Z-Man Micro GOAT soft plastic.
