I’m about to make my first head ! The furring is what scares me the most but I’ve been doing a lot of research to help , even tho I know the first will always be flawed. Def appreciate the videos

Making paws as a commission and man so many mistakes it's torture but the final result is always worth it my last commission I accidentally sewed two front and back pieces together 😂😂 thankfully the buyer said it was fine as it didn't make too much of a difference

another thing i would add is hot gluing your seams. I did this with my first dinomask partial, went to refurbish it, and i had to fully remake everything because all the fur was ruined from the hot glue. If anyone watching this hot glues seams, i would recommend learning hand sewing or getting a sewing machine it will save you so much time if you decide to refurb your suit. Im working on a different dinomask partial right now and its turing out way better then my first suit

Going back and double checking has been such an issue for my first suit. I've redone the eyes three times to ensure they fit and I like the design, 100% always double check your work!❤

Yea im making my first dinomask fursuit and i have messed up a bit but i find ways for a solution When i was trying to make the ears, i accidently glued the foam to the wrong side of the other piece but i just tore it off, peeled some excess glue off and then fixed it

My first head I started in 2016, I only had really thick foam and ended up cutting sheets in half to get the right thickness- I came back to years later and it was unfinished so I decided to make another after getting the right foam and it's going great

okay some notes from me! ive been making suits on and off for a decade soooo 1) when working with fur, look at sillhouette. sometimes i cant tell what the overall shape is, so i might take a photo and colour over it so i may be able to get an estimate of how itll look with fur. That ir sometimes ill tape the piece, as again, it stops it being sheets of foam to my brain. 2) take your time shaving, like seriously. i tend to go in with guards getting incrementally smaller, then no guard in places like the jaw, muzzle, eyebrows etc. brush the fur upwards and in the wrong direction, then carefully chip away with the clippers. this is hard and takes a lot of practice but makes a suit look so much more profesional. 3) pay attention to durability! a lot of newer makers forget this. make sure to tie off seams well, seal paint on eyes, sew raw edges around the mouth and so on. If the suit is built to last, it WILL last

When I was making MY first fursuit head from quarter inch foam- (or smth idk) on the first day, it looked rlly ugly, and I thought. I might give up, but then when I was going to bed I was staring at it, and I got an idea, the idea worked and it looked amazing!

I’m currently working on my own suit. It’s a Dino mask one but I’m making the ears out of foam and tails. I might ask my best friend for some help because they made their fursuit before me!

i have made 3 fursuit heads and i can say i have made almost all of these mistakes (and that's not even counting the other heads i restarted) double,even triple check your work if u have to bc making a mistake with fur is very costly, trust me i've done it enough times to know

great videos! -Something i should do is get back into doing Tutorial video streams, or begin doing tutorial videos for my YT channel. After 16+ years building fursuits as a profession & income, maybe creating tutorials on various fursuit techniques is something i may look into doing while building current commissioned suits. Could you make a video on ways to get into the furry community as I'd love to become a furry but not sure on the best ways/places to make freinds.

I think I accidentally used too much hot glue for my foam base and now it feels a bit stiff when I try it on, especially in the cheek sections. Is there a way to fix that or are fursuit heads supposed to feel stiff from glue?

What I’m suffering with, is the design. I’m making mine after one of my pets, a bearded dragon. Having to cut out all the foam, and symmetrically.. They are almost just a plain triangle shape, if you look at them. I’m soon going to get started- wish me luck on that. 😅
