Simplified explanation. They are on the same record label, so the record company suggested a collaboration, Amy liked what she saw and heard, got in touch and they agreed on a collaboration. One year later, Amy was invited to the Wagakki Band Premium symphonic Night Vol 2. Here it was agreed that if Amy dared to come on stage for the last verse, she could. She learned the lyrics to the song just before the concert started. The song they wrote together "Sakura Rising" was written via email correspondence. The song took shape the night before the concert with Machiya, Amy and Yuko in the studio. It was recorded the day after the concert.

A trilogy talk between Yuko Suzuhana (Vo) & Machiya (Gt) and Amy took place the day before the collaboration for this video, where they discussed the motivation for the collaboration. Amy and Wagakki Band first met in July 2018 when Wagakki Band went to Los Angeles to see Amy perform live. Machiya said, ”I saw EVANESCENCE live for the first time, who were performing with an orchestra at that time, and saw a beautiful fusion of heavy, rock and classical music, which I felt was very close to the live show we are going to collaborate with the orchestra for.” I love Wagakki Band and LOVEBITES. Wagakki Band has successfully blended traditional Japanese instruments with rock very well. I believe that LOVEBITES will also expand the world of LOVEBITES by successfully combining Fami's unique and technical bass with metal.　😄

"Senbonzakura" is not an original song by WGB, but was originally created with the music composition software "Vocaloid", which has a function to make virtual idols sing. It is one of the songs included in the Vocaloid cover album "Vocalo Zanmai" created by WGB as their debut album. When the MV of this song was released, it attracted attention not only in Japan but all over the world. This song has become so famous that it can be called their representative work, and even now, eight years later, it is always performed at concerts.
