Five years ago we announced an exclusive presentation of Wagner's The Ring Cycle with our friends at Opera Australia, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Opera Queensland, and Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
The staging of any Ring Cycle is an epic undertaking, but for all involved in the 2023 QPAC season, it felt like an insurmountable quest after the wrath of multiple COVID interruptions and a flood.
Director Chen Shi-Zheng's vision of the world's first digital Ring Cycle earned overwhelming critical and audience acclaim, and goes down in our history as a triumphant once-in-a-lifetime season.
