The Battle of Wagram was a military engagement of the Napoleonic Wars that ended in a costly but decisive victory for Emperor Napoleon's French and allied army against the Austrian army under the command of Archduke Charles of Austria-Teschen.
The battle led to the breakup of the Fifth Coalition, the Austrian and British-led alliance against France. Wagram was the largest battle in European history up to its time.

You would think that they would be hard to clean, but surprisingly, they weren’t. "White stood out in the field, when one of the functions was to make a good show. In the course of time coats of blue faded badly, those of pike gray turned a dirty ashen color, and those of green assumed a tinge of yellow, while repairs were all too evident on dyed coats of any kind, and added to a general look of shabbiness. Coats of white, on the other hand, could always be worked up with chalk to make them look 'new and brilliant." (Duffy - "Instrument of War" Vol I p 130)

the only actual enemy napoleon got to challenge his rule was archduke charles,he had been competing with napoleon since he had his first command of an army, truely an underated figures in the napoleonic wars

No one can cap the only units and I mean only units carrying the coalition aside from terrible terrain and money were the Austrian and Hungarian grenadiers, personally though I dabble more on the French drip

unfortunately, kinda the stormtroopers of their time period, only ever losing battles for significant periods of time. not to sell austria short, but one can't deny the losing streak they went on throughout the 19th century.

And yet the Empire remained strong and stubborn against Prussia, France and other european turmoils until the bitter end, something perfectly remarkable for a multinational entity. Defeats in local battles are part of a larger equation, and the Habsburgs were generally successful in getting up after a fall, sometimes stronger actually. Both Frederick II and Napoleon recognized the Austrian "phoenix".

The Austrian Empire came out victorious and dominant from the Napoleonic wars and remained so until mid 19th century when first the French-Austrian war then the Prussian-Austrian war challenged Austrias dominance of the European continent.
