My roommate and I tried out Pho Akaushi today because of this video! We absolutely loved the pho there and the owner was really sweet. The place was delicious and will go again!

I haven’t been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants that make the fresh rolls with that meat and the crunch. One place that use to be here where I live makes the crunch as a straw instead of crunched up like the one you had. I love it!

The Vegas buffets have all been closed the better part of a year due to COVID, and The Wicked Spoon is the only one just reopened, so I kinda doubt it.

Plan to visit Monterey the next time you visit San Francisco. It's about a two hour drive south of SF. Of course there's some great seafood too!

Last time I drove by 17 miles/no white sand like fl only grey but scenic is good in summer was extremely heated. No food/drink i almost died.

I grew up in the Monterey Bay so it was nice seeing you visit the area! You were lucky and visited on a day when the water and the sky were super blue! It's like no other place!

Mike, I have to tell you that I think I am now considered a hot chili oil addict, thanks to you! I followed your recipe and have made the oil twice. First, I only used it on Asian dishes, then a couple weeks ago I started adding on Indian dishes. But today, Mike, I was eating frozen pizza, and yes, I sure did, I put it on my pizza and I don’t regret it one bit! Love your videos and a big thanks from this Ohio Grandma!

I cant stop watching your videos. They bring me comfort. I have been disabled and i have to stay home because i cant even take shots. But i love your videos, i love Asian food i can only go out once a week and im dying for some dumplings. Here in Houston we have hong kong market and they have great frozen dumplings and egg rolls You in my opinion have taken over Anthony Bourdain and i think he would be proud of you because he ate everything. Keep it going, wish you luck.if you open a restaurant in houston i will try to be there. I know what i love from your videos and dumplings are a must.

Hey glad you came to San Jo! I moved there from Mississippi and surprisingly a lot of Vietnamese did that same move so I learned a lot about Vietnamese food and their flavors are so good just like Southern soul food I miss so much. I’m hungry now! Also love Monterey beach - great clam chowder and sooo relaxing.

That Vietnamese/Chinese plaza in San Jose is the best. My mom always took me when I was young, along with other shops in that plaza. Love getting the pandan waffles at the dessert shop, somewhere in there.

Hope you had a safe drive Mike. I was immediately hit with a wave of nostalgia when you ate at the Lion Plaza in San Jose for breakfast. I grew up eating there all the time and the food really is some of the best that the city has to offer. Next time you are ever back, be sure to check out Vietnam Town and Grand Century for some really good Vietnamese food.

Thanks for the shout out to my home town: Monterey (and Pacific Grove). My first memories ever were Surf Ave in PG and abalones at the beach. It's very different now.
