I am so excited to see Wahaj and Yumna together after Dil Na Ummeed Toh Nahi. Wahaj and Yumna are the only reason for watching this drama. Yes they have established themselves as phenomenal actors over the years. This is for the first time they are doing such drama, even in this drama Yumna is not that bechari girl which we have seen in typical dramas, she is strong, confident and fearless girl. Yumna is truly the most versatile actress and I know that she will ace this role as well. Over the years she had done many critically acclaimed projects and she will continue to do so, but this time, as she said in an interview, she wanted to do a drama which will be watched by the mainstream audience. This is required for an artist to engage the main audience also, so I am not complaining. And coming to Wahaj, he has established himself as a great actor with Jo Bichar Gaye and Dil Na Ummeed Toh Nahi, so choosing that script is completed justified. Even in that role, his acting is superb and I must confess he is looking damn hot. Looking forward to this drama

In the same interview Behroz mentioned he was a drinker of alcohol but stopped drinking after he caught covid so only recently (I saw on another website, haven’t seen the interview) but surprisingly no one will comment on that and he will get a pass for that. I wasn’t expecting such an admission especially from a guy who in every interview that I’ve ever seen of his always goes Allah Allah Allah and the family act like the most religiously pious people to exist on the planet. He should’ve kept pardah on that if Allah swt kept pardah on his sin in the first place rather than revealing it. Even in the same breath and interview, he thought he was morally superior to talk about women who are driving motorbikes, usually who belong to a lower strata of society and often tend to be veiled actually. How many do drive on motorbikes? Barely any. So his claim that somehow he’s witnessed so many driving and also in leggings is a stretch. Has he spoken about his daughter in laws and how they dress? And the women in his own industry who tend to wear far more revealing attire? Or is his hypocritical preaching limited to the general public only?! Wasn’t his wife dancing openly recently quite vulgarly which is against our culture? and she was wearing skin tight jeans on holiday?! What’s the difference! Sometimes these celebs really need to practice what they preach & take a long hard look in the mirror.

For Hassan - Yes women are harassed in burqa too. Even if you see chingchi here in Lahore, the girls no matter how much covered they are, if they are holding rikshaw rods/ stands, men will come and touch hands. Just that one body part is exposed and that too is touched. Besides that like Aaminah mentioned incident. Similar incident happened in Lahore Thokar road, girls were sitting on back side of chingchi rikshaw. On that crowded road, a boy has audacity to come near to rikshaw on his bike and opened his zip. One of the girls was brave enough to capture his video and uploaded on social media. Punjab police caught that boy (It happened 2 to 3 years back).

20:47 As a woman, I can confirm from my experience that a woman's clothes have nothing to do with how much she is harassed or stared at. She can wear hijab, burqa, jeans, or shalwar kameez but those who have the habit of abusing women will inevitably do that.

I loved Yumna and Wahaj in DNUTN, they both are one of my favourites currently and I was quite excited to watch them together in new drama. I understand that not every drama will be artistic or close to reality but this drama gives very nasty vibes to me. Those dialogues of Yumna in teasers were quite OTT and certainly something I can't watch just like Raaz-e-ulfat, Fitoor, Badzaat etc. Sadly Geo dramas are now turned into short version of Ekta Kapoor serials with huge mansions, designer clothes, spoilt toxic super powerful only son, toxic mil, poor girl with huge moral grounds, highly decorated homes and good for nothing parents. Story too is quite predictable.

How many women on streets, bazaar or any other public spaces do you find women without chadar and burqa? YOU DON’T. Ask yourself. You don’t find women dressed inappropriately in Pakistan, Except for extremely elite areas or maybe some universities. Why is everyone hell bent on teaching islam to *just* women even though they’re the only ones actually following the principles of islam of haya and pardah? Bass ek non existent problem ke peechay parh gaye hain uncles. The entire world simply is obsessed with khawateen ke kapray, kahin zyada pehnnay pe problems kahin kam pehnay pe. Us girls deal with perverts and creepy men on streets, at home, in markets, everywhere you name it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Khuda ka wasta talk about why the hell men don’t respect women in this country. The reality is more than half the Pakistani men are watching all type of vulgar content, p*rn material, following half naked women online (from other countries and here too) which ultimately means they’ve become extremely frustrated. The reality is in Pakistan the amount of women who dress non modestly is basically 0.000001% (if that) of the population. If Behroz really has an issue, he ought to speak to the women in his own family and his own industry who represent that figure. I don’t see Sadaf or his wife wearing duputtas on their chest, let alone chadors! And honestly whenever I have visited Pakistan except from an university, elite restaurant or a big shopping mall which most of the population don’t have an access to and that too only in cities like Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad, most of women are covered up from head to toe. I would say they cover up more than Muslim women in many other Muslim majority countries because our attire is shalwar kamiz whereas other countries like iran, morocco, turkey, most arab countries (except saudia, uae, qatar, gulf) the attire is jeans and tops. I have only seen few women on bikes & all were wearing hijabs. Maybe it might be an issue again in his ELITE HOUSING SOCIETY, but not an issue for majority of us.

Really excited to see Wahaj & Yumna’s new project! I actually really enjoyed the teasers despite its a GEO drama which I know is gonna be exaggerated & a lot of it seems really stereotypical. However having said that there are a few things which look really appealing about the show… 1. The female lead (Yumna Zaidi) isn’t playing a damsel in distress by the looks of it but a girl who can stand up for herself esp to a spoilt arrogant guy. So that is something different & great to see. 2. The male lead is Wahaj Ali - not really seen him in a negative role like this. Its something different so Im really excited to see how he performs in this character. Finally seeing someone else playing a negative role of a rich entitled guy other then Danish & Feroze because honestly that was becoming tiresome. I hope Wahaj’s character isn’t a typical toxic character though - he is a great actor who has picked very clever scripts in the past that have had portraying significant characters that have a lot of range. Hes my favourite actor so im personally really glad hes back on screen with two new drama’s! So happy to be seeing Wahaj finally getting the main lead roles in prime time slots!! He truly deserves it. I just hope the story isn’t too similar to what we have seen & GEO doesn’t drag the story!

#OnTheSpot Aamna -- Thanks for raising the point about your house help , and yes only women can tell that men who enjoy staring at women will stare at a covered woman just the same. I grew up in Saudi Arabia when Abaya was the law and we grew up with men staring at women, rape is as common in Saudi Arabia as it is in other countries where women choose to dress differently in public. So this in itself should prove that rape is not related to what you wear - but more about being at the wrong place at the wrong time coming across a criminal.

Being directed by Siraj ul haq, we can expect the new Yumna, Wahaj drama to be OTT with a lot of material for roasting. 😀Despite that I would definitely want to watch Yumna as a strong, independent minded girl as it would not be a timid girl suffering and crying at the hands of toxic masculinity. As for Wahaj. I hope he doesn’t follow Danish and Feroze in doing the angry young man roles. I loved the Wahaj of DNUTN. Soft caring men as heroes should be normalised as the real masculinity. Soft not toxic, masculinity should be promoted as the real hero material. But where men are soft, women are shown taking advantage of them, as shown in Wabaal, and Hooria in Agar. The balance is missing, because our stories are based on the nature, habits of the characters, rather than on incidents, or the work/ careers of the characters.

Also when we do get dramas where men are beautifully soft and women are fierce and amazing like Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi , they never make it to big channels. I wish Wahaj and Yumna would have got such a platform for their beautiful work in dil na umeed toh nahi. That show in itself has a niche following but that under-rated gem it is ! Wahaj has gone down the toxic route. What a tussle for me lol who despised Shamsher in Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi and now has her fav as the gun clad Murtasim. But I hope there is proper arc in some way . Nevertheless Wahaj has still given us beautiful characters like Rumi and Jimmy and has more beautiful projects in his kitty InSha Allah like 22 qadam which is about cricket . Yumna has been doing amazing amazing work and lately she is also called out for being the survivor from a humble home. So I am glad she is in a commercial avatar. But I do hope the commercial dramas don't just hover around rejection, hate and revenge only. And only become merry in Ramadan. Yumna and Wahaj deserve all the love for their unconventional choices regardless of screentimes too. Geo can't be escaped though 🤧. Manifesting them in another light hearted project . Issue with Behroze Sahab's comment: When women sit on a bike,it's automatically going to make their trousers a little tight even if they're not stitched tightly. Since the posture is going to stretch the clothes. Also women who don't wear dupatta or scarf in their daily lives, definitely are not going to wear them while riding a bike too. Riding without scarf should be as normal as walking without a scarf.(though the women still get stares and catcalls). How is walking without a scarf different then riding without a scarf. It is just a matter of one's ethos. Secondly, there is sooooo much vulgarity and nudity in the showbiz industry itself but he has a problem with the comman women. There is already such a problematic discourse on this subject. Everyone seems to be accepting of the women riding cars but not cycles and bikes.Everyone can't afford to buy cars. The other day, my riksha fellow said the same thing k aurtain car chlati hui achi lgti h bike nahi. Had it been a trend to women riding bikes right from the time when bikes were invented, nobody would have had an issue today. Same is the case with women seating posture on the bikes. Who made this a norm that women need to be seated by keeping the legs on one side only.(it's changing slowly with the elderly women sitting the other way). It's literally painful. I remember going to the university with another sister of mine and father on a bike sitting this way. Literally Sara Rasta azab hota tha kbhi ap girny waly Hain kbhi ap gir jaty hain kbhi apki veins kich jati ha bazoo or legs stretch kr kr ky. And I always used to think what is the purpose of putting us through so much pain.Although my father used to encourage us to seat ourselves just like him but we were always reluctant to do so because bcz the gazes.

Did Hassan really ask about the Burkha thing, i wear hijab and very loose clothing (shalwar kamiz, abaya) in Pakistan and i can tell you there is harassment rife on the streets of Pakistan. Feel more comfortable in London than I ever do there. So I cannot imagine if a girl is wearing tighter clothing driving a motorbike then the harassment must be on another level - so on a more protective level I don’t think it’s wrong requesting to cover up more or properly for your own benefit (that’s the reason why it has been and we can’t deny is stated to dress modestly in the first place by Allah swt) but covering up won’t mean you won’t be harassed and it’s not a guarantee, that’s for sure. Stating both statements are not contradictory. As long as your a woman regardless of age your open game. The stories I have to tell 🤮🤢

I mean their own country made show dhoop ki deewar starring sajal and ahad which is in zee5 India but is banned in Pakistan. I mean come on it's not even propaganda series but still banned in Pakistan when it's made by them only.

I myself traveled a lot on a bike, 60 KM on one side even. This is the most difficult travel one can imagine, with balancing yourself and all your dupattas, coping with the weather if there is wind, rain, heat & cold. plus if you have samaan with yourself that's another task. Most people & women have the luxury to drive this and now women are empowered we see a lot of girls riding a bike and I saw them in hijab with appropriate clothes. Do not make the controversy of everything, ab bike wali bechariyon ki shalwar kameez bhi hathy charh gyi hai, keeping in mind, the women in your family wears modern dresses.

I think it’s almost become fashionable to not criticise a few actors and their work. Especially in the case of Yumna, her acting hasn’t been that consistent in IeL or Bakhtawar even. Fandoms will always be biased. What they criticise others actors for, they will happily watch their favourites portray. However, I hope that as critics you guys will keep your bias aside and judge a product fairly for all actors. Also Yumna should take a break after this show. From Sinf e Ahan to IeL to Bakhtawar to now this, she is constantly on screen and the first three shows did not do well either.

#onthespot I do not live in Pakistan and I took my 15 year old daughter to Karachi 2 years ago , she was wearing a kurta and jeans most of the trip, even then I have noticed men looking at her inappropriately. They don't even try to hide their stares. They even enjoy when women squirm or fix their dupatta. Ever since that day I've been thinking of an advertising campaign that should run in Pakistan and India too. "Nazar pe nazar" in which men correct other men looking at women with lust and evil. They should have close up shots of how men "check out" women and then other men telling them not to. Not sure which brand goes well with this narrative but it needs to be done. Men MUST be held accountable for the way they look at women. Behroze Uncle it's not women's clothes that need to be fixed its the men's eyes and "neeyat".

I can’t believe we’re still having this conversation about what is appropriate for women to wear and making judgments about what their clothing says about them. It's time to stop policing women's clothing and start raising our expectations of men. Stars from both sides should stay away from unnecessary commentary on politics as it can aggravate the bad situation for the worse. You can still be a patriarch without speaking ill of the other. I have heard stars from both sides at times going overboard with their statements. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.

On the contents getting banned I don't wish to say much about it coz this entertainment is targeted & enters politics sadly resulting communal issues. Recently Deepika wearing orange colour became an issue. No idea what has colours to do to raise these type of issues. Sad very sad. But these type of things will continue. There is no doubt that there is wisdom in Allah’s ahkam. When Allah’s hukam of parda came , women were asked to cover themselves up and for men to lower their Gaze. What does that mean ? In my opinion pardah is for men and women both. Allah SWT didn’t say that one gender is exempt. No one is supposed to make oneself a show piece. Libas is protection from weather and bad people.
