Swaddling is a traditional practice of wrapping a baby up gently in a light, breathable blanket (wrapping clothes) to help them feel calm and sleepy. & also their body wrapped and not their neck or head, so that there is no chance of suffocation. Research has shown swaddling, used alongside sound and movement, to be effective at soothing crying babies. It can also encourage babies to sleep deeper and for longer. Another study found that babies who were born early and were swaddled were calmer and had improved neuromuscular development and better muscle tone, and it soothed pain and discomfort. This baby is only one and a half months old, and you can see that she is enjoying the moment. As a doctor I can say that, swaddling for short periods of time is likely fine ‌, swaddling for sleep can put your baby at risk of suffocation. You should stop swaddling your baby when they start to roll over. That's typically between two and four months. During this time, your baby might be able to roll onto their tummy, but not be able to roll back over. This can raise their risk of SIDs.

I agree..I strongly dislike this practice. Not even in the womb are they this much restricted. They have a special reflex to outstretch arms if they feel they are falling..no way to reflex when arms wrapped..Already vulnerable...made even more vulnerable...how many studies are wrong, incomplete...how people can lack common sense and turn to " studies"...

Ela pode até dormir tranquila porque do jeito que a colocaram não há o que fazer, mas estudem o olhar dela e vejam se esse olhar é de quem está feliz? Quando qualquer pessoas está feliz os olhos sorriem, a felicidade fica estampada no rosto, reparem, o rostinho está como se tivesse zangada, por saber o que lhe espera. Babies in mom’s tummy bhi aise hi rehte hain I too used to used breathable fabric to cover my babies and I used to put light pillows around and on my babies… This way babies feel the cuddle and warmth as if they re in mother’s womb..❤

I didn’t think you were a photographer, I thought you were her father. You swaddled her with such love and care I thought for sure you were related. I wish I knew how to swaddle my infants this way for their first 2 months. This swaddling technique and the type of fabric used here, in the hands of this expert, along with holding close to his or mama's body and gentle rhythmically rocking, provide his newborn baby with warmth, security, love, and comfort. This way, it mimics the tight natural body position in her mama's womb providing a more kind & peaceful transition from the womb to a shocking unrestraint world. I think swaddling a baby like this for the first 2 months is beneficial & safe. After that, the baby has gradually adapted to the outside-the-womb environment, this type of swaddling is not necessary. Remember Indian civilization is much longer than others, it knows what it is doing. Relax, this is a less traumatic way to gently help your baby adapt to the outside world. It is common sense and is not abuse at all. Look at this baby's face, she looks happy, peaceful, and content.

Babies actually like this at such a young age. They feel secure . This is similar to how they were in the womb . I wouldn’t do it for long periods of time or over night. But for a little while it’s fine.

Ich als Nicht-Mutter dachte das auch,bis ich mich mit einer Mutter unterhalten habe,die es auch kurzzeitig praktiziert hat bei ihrer neu geborenen Tochter. Sie hat mir erzählt, dass sie es vom Arzt empfohlen bekommen hat. Sie erzählte mir,dass es Neugeborene gibt,die mit dieser neuer "Freiheit" nach der Geburt nicht zurecht kommen und sich so geborgener fühlen. Man darf es nur nicht auf Dauer machen,glaub ich. Mir leuchtete ihre Erklärung ein. Aber was weiß ich schon,als Nicht-Mutter??🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I have extreme claustrophobia and didn’t swaddle my son after we brought him home from the hospital bc it made me so uncomfortable to see him like that! 😂 I held him tight and kept him safe and he is a healthy, tall, and confident young man today. Swaddling is fine, I just didn’t do it. 🤷‍♀️

It is Only for a short time !! Only for the Photo Shoot . Then they unwrap baby. I don’t know why they do it I personally don’t like it. Looks too tight to me. But that is how they were in the womb.
