Күн бұрынCatching me completely by surprise, Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus is a game I had no idea was even being made, let alone releasing in a few days! Described as “a 2D metroidvania based on Japanese Folklore”, Bo is a game with some very striking similarities to others in the genre. Particularly one starring a small but agile knight. With immediately striking art and visuals, does Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus do enough to carve out its own space in such a saturated genre?

Every new metroidvania gets called a must play masterpiece so its hard not to be skeptical here. Wish there was a demo

Yeah I feel you, and tbh when I got the code for this I didn't really have high expectations. But Bo does have a high enough production value with its art and music and the gameplay with its required precision helps it stick out amongst the rest. End of the day it's just my opinion, but I highly recommend giving this game a shot. I do hope it comes to gamepass or something one day, though 20 bucks is a damn good price for what you get too imo.

Well, tbh i dont like the graphics/art style. The colors are kinda offputting for me in this one. To much washed out, I don't know maybe its just me but for example Last Case of Benedict Fox colors are my cup of tea.

I wouldn't call it easy, but imo it's not as difficult as Hollow Knight.

Decently difficult yeah. But not end game Hollow Knight DLC hard.

I like the game, love the look That said I find the core platforming mechanic excruciatingly difficult I'm only at the very beginning & I'm twisting my hands in knots with the pogo stick I realize that I just might suck & it's just me(I have beat plenty of Souls games) but man wtf I'll keep at it & try to git gud because it looks worth it I just hope that I'll "get it"

It's something you have to get used to IMO. Even in my clips above, I was watching my early clips back as I was editing the review and I was almost cringing at how bad I was at using the jump reset. Even on the first boss. By the end of it though, you get things like increased range on your attack (which helps a fair bit) and just through practice you really get a feel for the platforming and precision. I didn't want to use clips that were too spoilery, so most of the footage in the review is from the first few hours.
