The Noctua C14S is a pretty serious cooler for the NR200, and you can get a performance uplift by upgrading the stock fan. Perhaps you want a better fan for your 280mm AIO, or you're building a custom loop. Let's check out two of the better performance 140mm fan options available now.

Would like to see more 140mm fan coverage in the future. Not enough people talk about this size.

Yessss. I would like to see more cases specifically designed for either 140 or 180mm. With zero 120mm compatibility ie fittings.

Agree. It feels that anything and everyone just focuses on 120mm. So far my go to daily driver for 140mm is NB Eloops B14-PS fantastic noise/performance as a case fan and as a radiator fan

Agreed. People don't understand how quiet 140s are, and it's annoying not to see simple scaling done by companies. There are some harmonic issues to work out when you scale up, but it's worth it, and we're willing to pay for it

Thank you for this video! Would like a larger roundup if possible. Really no one covers 140mm fans and given that still plenty of people use 280mm rads I think it’s still worth covering. I hope for more 140mm coverage from you.

Definitely going to be interested to see what Noctuas new 140's do in comparison since the current A14's are more akin to case fans at this point

It would be nice to have a comparison on a radiator as well, since a fan may be better in that context.

So, as someone who has been a long time buyer of Corsair, Noctua, Cougar, some cooler master, and Fianally Be Quiet!..... I must say that Be Quiet has the best build quality, and in many cased... Best Performance. Noctua is going to be playing catchup with the new releases this year ;)

I had 3x BeQuiet SW -4. They all had coil whine, 1 was pretty loud, 2 were barely audible, but if you have your PC one a desk next to you, that sound just penetrates your brain.

Do you have any plans to review the 140mm Phanteks D30's? I've currently got the Mobius 140p's but I'm curious how they stack up to 30mm thick fans

Is there any scenario where a T30 wouldn't outperform an A14, SWP4 140 or CM Mobius 140P when 120x30 fans and 140x25 fans are both an option? It's nice to know that SWP4 looks best for scenarios where you're limited to 140 fans, but what would these scenarios be? For case fan mounts with 120/140 compatibility, 280 / 420 rads (where you can use 120 fans with an adapter), and air coolers that can accommodate 30mm thick fans it's hard to imagine anything beating the T30 and this seems to cover most pc fan use cases? The only common exception I can think of is folks using dual tower coolers that don't have a wide enough gap for a T30 to fit, but are designed with enough height to accommodate a 140x25?

From another review I saw where they measured the air speed and noise level at a fixed distance 6", 9", alongside with results mounted on an aircooler heatsink. The T30 becomes a middling fan when you're not using it as a radiator or heatsink fan. That's the catch - only use the T30 as a radiator fan or in SFF builds. If you use it as a case fan with zero to no obstruction even a cheap fan like an Arctic P14 fan would 100% give you better results. The A14 and SWP4 140 would outright blow it out of the water.

Srry im late to the party, but these are just more expensive p14 argb fans. That thing it's just as good or outperforms them. In fact the mobius and the p14 are very much alike. You might wanna check the antec storm t3.

@Swarmish 10 ай бұрын
I was confused by that too. NF-A14x25 have not been released yet. That's the one we've all been waiting to be released. Since it's not otherwise specified then, the Noctua fan used for the video could be a number of different A14 fans then as Noctua has multiple designs.

This can only come from someone who has never owned one. Look, i absolutely love the NF-A12x25 but lemme tell ya : the NF-A14 is an absolutely terrible sounding fan by todays standards. The humming of this fan on certain RPM ranges is downright unbearable. This however can be dealt with by adjusting fan curves and so on and so forth but only by so much. The real problem for me is when that fan is changing its fanspeed. For the time when the actual fanspeed change is happening the fan gets louder to then settle again. If you're on your desktop and the fanspeed is changing ever so slightly in the background every few seconds or so this is getting so annoying, you have no idea. However, as i've said : this can be somewhat dealt with by dailing in fan curves but eventually, every fan will change rpm modes every now and then and everytime the NF-A14 does, boy i want to pull my hair out. The exact same fanspeed change scenarios on the NF-A12x25 on the other hand : absolutely not noticable at all. So yeah, look : as i've said before : the NF-A12x25 is nothing but amazing but the NF-A14 is just an terribly outdated fan and knowing noctua we'll have to wait at least till 2025 for their new 140mm fan to come out (i know they said 2024 but just straight up forget about it and add another year) and we then have to wait another 10 years for the black version of it to come out.
BeQuiet just blew my mind...
