A camera review with a Colorado vibe. As a former Colorado resident (Salida) and photographer thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with the Zorki! I just purchased my own Zorki 4 (1970-vintage but not sure what day it was assembled!😝) and I'm looking forward to loading up some film and getting it out there with it. Your video helped me make a better buying decision!

I recently picked up a Zorki 4 and will agree that it's fun to shoot with. I'm pleasantly surprised by the lens, and I have to say, the rangefinder patch is easy to see and accurate.

This is a great overview without excessive detail. As said, the Zorki 4 has a fantastic Leica M3 style 1x viewfinder with dioptre adjustments on top; this is a combination Leica never gave. The comment on potential incompatibility of Soviet lenses an Western ones is very pertinent. A working and well maintained Zorki 4 with a well matched Jupiter 8 is an amazing camera however.

hello kenneth , I have one zorki 4 given to me by my father 40 years ago .it is still working well and i recently changed the speed plate as the writings disappear . it is in perfect condition now . i like your videos - you really deserves much more subscriber ! daniel from france

I bought a Zorki 4 for $12 for the lens (Black Jupiter 8) knowing the shutter curtain was bad. I was very pleasantly surprised by how good the view finder is. You are right. It is bright, clear and looks 100%. The diopter adjustment is really cool. I use the lens on my Canon 7 which seems to be a pretty decent lens. Someday I would like to pick up a working Zorki 4 or 4K which is think is the same camera but has a lever film advance. As always, I enjoyed your video.

My first real camera was a Zorki 4K, before I moved to Leica. Loved it to bits. Took it everywhere. The lens, I had the black version, was sharp enough. I later inherited the Zorki 4K from my father.

It's what you do with it. All lenses are pretty sharp.

The Zorki 4 has camera lugs my Zorki 4k does not. I does have lever wind on though. The Jupiter 8 50mm f2 lens is a brilliant performer.

Does the Zorki have an M42 mount? I have an Industar 50mm M42 lens.

M39 mount, like the Barnack Leica’s.

I do like the old Russian film RF cameras. Own a few Zorki and Fed models. Have you ever done a review of the Kiev II or III Zeiss Contax clones?

I own a Kiev III, it's a must buy camera. It's absolutely great, the viewfinder is a little bit dark due to the greenish tint on them. The shutter is real quiet and works perfectly, the jupiter 8 on them is great, as sharp as the original Contax lens

@@kennethwajda It's the one on which you can change shutter speeds before or after you rewind the film and charge the shutter, with no fear that you gonna destroy shutter mechanism 🙂 And does not look like Zorki4.
