Күн бұрын

On Thursday’s (Feb. 27) episode of #EverydayStruggle, Nadeska, Wayno and DJ Akademiks are joined by Waka Flocka Flame. The crew and the ‘Flockavelli’ rapper start off their conversation by talking about Waka’s upcoming reality TV show with his wife Tammy Rivera, titled ‘Waka & Tammy: What the Flocka.’ Soon after, Flocka reveals how rap saved his life and explains why he doesn’t believe rap music is dangerous. Then, the EDS crew and Flocka continue the conversation on wack rappers. Flocka also admits to the trio that he thought of himself as a wack rapper once, but says he maintained his success by being an outstanding entertainer. Soon after, Flocka elaborates on his past problems with Warner Bros, why labels need to bring back artist development and why we don’t need CEOs to create larger labels for young artists. Waka also drops some knowledge on stocks and reveals how he learned the value of money by reading and learning from people. To close out the show, Flocka blasts podcasts, and says OGs are using the platform in the wrong way and reveals why he doesn’t hang with, or collaborate with, younger artists.

TheHippieShow that’s a fact. Notice how sometimes they didn’t know to respond. Hip hop rhetoric so often is nothing without the dumb shit... the dumb shit has for so long allowed a lot of ppl to weigh in when in reality they’d have nothing to offer- if only to a conversation like this. I absolutely loved it. So called real niggas in the game wouldn’t be able to keep up.

waka would have a horrible label. labels are about making money and the way they do it is by preying on ignorant artists. it's their duty to have artists sign the worst deal they can have them sign to make as money as they can. that's why labels are owned by people who aren't like us. they don't care about us and our community. it's not their problem. waka made the smart move to move away from hiphop. that's where the money is. his mindset doesn't work for what hiphop is right now.

What waka is saying about ‘rappers don’t wanna claim their city’ This applies to athletes today and rappers. This why NBA ratings have been worse cuz u have superstars switching teams every couple years to join other teams (Cough AD and lebron, Paul George and kawhi) Rappers all moving to LA. Nobody wants to take the hard path (aside from Memphis like waka said thats why they’re poppin). Nobody wants to spend their whole career at their city and bring others from the city up, nobody wants to spend their whole athletic career at a city and grind a ring out IM JUS SAYIN 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

Waka Flocka is speaking serious truths about how entertainment works. The same way people blame movies and video games for negative events, music is no different. It's entertainment, when you listen to a song, you're watching a movie. People need to be able to escape into alternate worlds, and in many ways it KEEPS people out of trouble listening to music, watching movies, playing video games, ect.
