They would’ve said it and moved on because it’s not the important thing to say. The joke is she makes her identity that she “is” the high school cheat captain. It’s very trendy right now to no longer have your character be your identity, but instead let the most random unimportant “truth” (although not actually meaning reality) be a persons identity, it’s actually condition that Gen Z seems to be suffering from and what they will be known for unless they turn it around. Not only does Gen Z not know who they are, they don’t know who’s they are. To put it in 2003 terms “whose your daddy?” John 8:44

In the US you mean. In countries that have a universal health care system the government takes care of it. My own country is an example of that, and we aren’t even rich or anything. Looked like it would have been a fun (?) movie to watch when i was much younger, but now just how unrealistic the coma is would just take me out of it. My friend was in a coma for less than a week and it took her several months of rehabilitation to get better. She basically lost a year of her life and is still not perfectly back to normal. A lot of people are saying 'its a fictional movie it doesn't need to be accurate' but usually that covers people being superheroes or Nania in someone's wardrobe, not basic humab biology. I get irs a comedy but they could have but the smallest amount of effort to making it seem believable. Even if she had to spend just one more night in the hosptial before getting discharged

Teen years were hell for me as I was always considered an outcast in high school and nobody ever wanted to be friends me, even though I wasn't some kind of nerdy guy, or ugly/creepy guy. 20 years old now and still no friends, no girlfriend, etc. I think my 20s are gonna be the same as my teens and I'm probably gonna grow old all lonely.

Taking a person directly home after a 20 year coma (yes i know muscle atrophy but let's suspend that disbelief for a moment) would be wildly irresponsible. EVERYTHING has changed. Not just the people in their life but the way the world works has almost completely changed. If someone had, in 2002, told me that one day I'd have a little screen I carried around with me that I could make phone calls on or play games or watch movies or just talk to random people I've never met before, I'd have had a hard time believing that because cell phones just... were NOT that advanced, not by a long shot. Hell, in 2002, in the midwest we BARELY were just then getting somewhat affordable internet access for home use. Before 2004, I'd only been on the internet a couple times, once at school and once at my aunt's house.
