This talented painter passed away shortly after he finished this spectacular art piece. The dance is an excerpt from a musical about this painting whereas the mountains were personified by the dancers. That leading dancer represent the spirit of the colour which also is the name of this dance, -- a main mineral paint was used in the painting. In the dance, most of the time these dancers were looking down because the mountains that they were representing are not pleased or saddened, they just silently guarding our nation for thousands of years, sure and strong. When the leading dancer looked up, she was not look up to the sky, she looked through the painting, through the thousands of years and met with the painter's soul, with the resonance of our common belief -- we love and proud of the land that feeding and flourishing our people. I couldn't stop tearing during the whole performance as a Chinese. I was also touched by the incredible connection that arts brought to people, without restriction of time or location.

I wish there are more cultural exchanges between countries instead of geopolitical conflicts. There are so many much more discoveries of cultures and performing arts from non-Western countries. However, the West led by the US never have the intention to showcase such beautiful performing art from China because it does not want China to shine and show the world about her culture, tradition and performing arts.

Idk if u guys have ever been to a Shen Yun show but if u haven't, I really recommend u going to one. They incorporate a lot of Chinese traditional dancing, instrumental elements, & storylines in each show every year. Idk if their shows r available in the UK but they r available here in the US.
