About the passion for music, I think it's partly due to the culture. Music is baked in from birth, it's everywhere. Even if you don't sing, most are still passionate about the music they listen to. I think it is also partly from the examples of those musicians, singers that came before. They had the love for music, humility, work ethic, and a sense of community. Perhaps the catholic religion plays a role too as it preaches humility and community. Those that came before Budakhlel and Morrissette, some you've heard of like Regine, Gary V and Martin Nievera (Who were before Regine), before them - Zsa ZSa Padilla, Sharon Cuneta, Kuh Ledesma, before them - Basil Valdez, etc...Most, if not all, of these legends and icons still show this love of music, humility and work ethic. The older ones still are around and singing even after decades in the industry at least as far as I know, though I am definitely not current on the happenings. These are just my theories anyway.
