I knew you guys are gonna like it. Until now, its one of my favorite karaoke songs to sing lol. Now, time to listen to “Till I Found You” (duet), and “This Time” (more of Top here more than Jinky). Edit: It’s sad that Top had to leave the group mid 2000s, and they brought in new members later on. Joshua Desiderio joined the group and became one of the vocalists. They’re hit song “Half Crazy” was mostly sung by him. He has a very husky, masculine voice like arrrghhhh lol. Very good looking too. He’s been around in the industry for a while. He’s the former vocalist of the band called “Kindred Garden”. They were really famous with their hit song “Pangako” back in the 90s. But yeah, when it comes to chemistry, no one can ever compare to Top and Jinky. Hope they’ll make a collab together with the whole band soon, I’m sure fans like me, will freak the hell out lol.

I've been to one of Freestyle Band's gig in a top hotel and all their shows were jam-packed and the whole audience get mesmerized with their whole performance. Junky Vidal has a super voice quality that transforms magical tunes.

I just adore this song. Just a cultural footnote. When this song was at its peak, the Philippines was still one of those countries where sex was a taboo topic and virginity was highly prized. But at the same time, we Filipinos are also very sensual and romantic. Maybe it's because of the Latin influence; you'll understand. Because of this, the lyrics are quite engaging and so culturally relevant. They are spot-on depictions of how Filipinos of the time viewed sexuality. Art, as the adage goes, is a mirror of society.

I think this song also represents how old school Filipino sees a relationship. We are big on Marriage before sex. Taking it slow. That is what our grandparents teach our parents and up until now taught to us and most I think still have this value but Filipino become less judgemental with people who decide otherwise. Freestyle have so many great songs that 90s kids still listen until now.

Love love love your reactions on late 90s early 2000 Filipino bands. Really brings back good memories for me. In our school back then, you were in a band or dancing squad. And if you were in a band, you gotta know Freestyle, South Border, Eraserheads, Side A and Rivermaya.
