I downloaded a mod for my current playthrough that changes Clint’s dialogue so that he’s less fixated on Emily, and accepts them just being friends. It still keeps him just as awkward and nervous. If you’re high hearts with Emily he’ll even wingman for you. It’s a great mod. I just couldn’t bear OG Clint anymore, he reminded me of an odd guy from high school who…thought was dating me but wasn’t. 💀 Thanks for the vid. It’s nice to have a different perspective on this character.

I think clint kept disappearing because you deleted the sprite files from the mod to get back the old clint but since the base game doesnt have sprite for anything relating to dating and marriage with clint it displayed nothing

@@Pluelul I've read that apparently Emily wasn't originally going to be a romance option, and that CA added in the romance for her later. With that in mind, I wonder if originally Emily was meant to reciprocate his affections? And even if not, the weird lines from Clint where he seems to not care if the player is married to Emily bc he tries to romance her anyway is probably remnants from that.

You can actually get one shop keeper to move in with you in vanilla Stardew (Krobus). His shop is still accessible in the sewers, but Krobus is replaced by a chest.

I think the reason Clint disappears is bc he doesn't have the necessary sprites, because you deleted them. A mod often adds additional sprites in extensions so OG Clint doesn't have the sprites that were supposed to appear. I'm not a modder though so I could be wrong.

when i started playing stardew i wanted to befriend clint thinking he was just a kind of akward dude that just needed a bit of help to be more outgoing but the more i get to know him the more creepy he became specially when you go to the bar and marni tells you he doesnt talk to anyone except stare at his shoulder a lot (probably stalking emily) that and couple with the fact his shop doesnt have music but this eerie cave wind sound made all interactions with him unconfortable, so anyways i married emily in front of him and had 2 kids with her, also got the geode crusher to never have to see him again.

Clint looks almost exactly like my ex and acts fairly similar, so I can not stand him as a character, seeing as it was a pretty rough relationship to look back on and he also just sucks as a stand-alone character. I wanna max friendship everyone but I also wanna keep my interactions with Clint at a minimum :’)
