I learned years ago not to bother with the 8, 9 and 10's .... very rarely worth it! ... Go for the 7's and you will have more fun!

I stayed recently at the Adelphi. It was alright but definitely an older hotel. Great staff.

I`m 54 and I like the relaxed atmosphere of Soi Buakhao, almost scared when I watch vlogs from Phuket and witness the shenanigans of Bangla Road.

I think best bet here for people who hasn't been to both is to split they holiday in 2 try both places out to see where they like best

That's a very good shout John. So many different places in Thailand and with domestic flights at a low cost then multi centres are a perfect way to go.

You mentioned patong has more Russians especially right now but I feel pattaya has more Indians. My selling points on pattaya is it is an easy ride rom Bangkok where it is easier and cheaper to fly to other Tavel spots.

Biggest selling point for Pattaya to me is how cheap everything is and logistically how easy it is to get around everywhere just using the baht bus route.

I will probably choose PATTAYA Besty. If I want a bit of an island feel, I go to Koh Samet for a couple of days👍

A downside to Patong is that I struggled to get a decent meal there. Even in some of the better restaurants I just wasn't enjoying my food.

Hey steady!!! I thought the food was expensive in patong and only ok. It was kind of much of a muchness. Where as in Pattaya it can be really good but often downright garbage. Cheap though. Bangkok for me wins hands down when it comes to food.

Hi buddy, just watching this vlog, and I was trying to remember, but my memory is shocking, did you ever check out the OTOP market when you and Gary were there? I was only in Patong for a few days in November last year, and I felt the same as you, a little too old for Bangla Road. However, I discovered the OTOP Market, just opposite Hooters, and I was really glad I did. Much more chilled out area, and the drinks were really good value. I’m fairly certain I only paid 70thb for a sangsom and coke.

Hi MPR. We didn't check it out on this trip as we weren't in Patong for very long. However, when I stayed at fishermen's harbour a good few years ago I'm pretty sure we had some drinks there. Right near the back of it there was this kind of wild west country bar if I remember correctly.

@@BigFatBesty there were several bars, along with some shops and a food market. Very strange place, at first, but definitely worth checking out. It was sort of like an open air beer bar complex. Knowing how things go in Thailand, I’m sure most of the bars I checked out have closed already 😏

For a month or 2 stay id say Pattaya. For a 2 week hols- Patong.

@8:58 I would imagine, one could get cheap girls at Nana plaza Bangkok compared to Patong which be a lot more expensive.. or so I've heard ;-)

As soon as you said tons of Russians in Phucket that swings it for me. I would feel more at home in Pattaya with the silver (bald) Mongers

Pattaya beats Phuket hands down as patong is overrated and overpriced..

It certainly wins on price. It loses badly on beach though.
