The Chaokoh Phi Phi is an ok hotel on the pier (quiet) side of the island. Short walk to the wild side if you want though.
This video gives you an idea of how far a walk it is from the pier to the hotel (I need to learn how to walk smoother when shooting).
If you're considering booking this hotel, a couple of points.
* Staff is very friendly but seem disorganized at times. Almost like
they just opened and are still working the bugs out.
* There is construction going on and from the looks of it will be for
quite some time. But it didn't bother us.
* There is a 500THB cash deposit per key card. You will want at
least two keys so you can leave one in the room to keep the AC
and power outlets on for charging your electronics while your
out. All of the lights and power outlets (except the fridge outlet)
are shut off within 10 seconds when you remove the key card
from its holder by the door. I don't understand why they kill the
power outlets while your out but the extra key hack fixes that.
* I would recommend not purchasing the breakfast option when
you book. The breakfast was not very good and there are many
places to eat within easy walking distance. We didn't buy the
breakfast option but paid onsite to eat there once. Do not even
go to the breakfast area for a cup of coffee, they charged my
room for a full breakfast (250 THB, $8 USD) for just coffee. They
have free coffee in the rooms but I didn't want to disturb my still
sleeping wife. Thought I could argue that point on checkout but
nothing doing.
Overall a decent hotel at a decent price. I would consider staying there again but will likely check out some other hotels first.
