"Walking football changed my life"
At the heart of Peoples Ford Walking Football Festival are real people with real stories. One of the 8 teams joining us on the day and competing for the winning title are Northern Lights FC. Northern Lights are a voluntary group based in Bootle, Liverpool that are building a community in which empathy, support and the encouragement to achieve new goals are their priority. Our team spent the day with Northern Light at their training space, ‘The Brunny’ - also known as Brunswick Youth and Community Centre. A local community centre supported by Jamie Carragher’s 23 Foundation.
Peoples Ford, in partnership with Glasgow Life are proud to be bringing the very first Parkinson’s Walking Football Festival to Scotland and our communities. The festival, sponsored by Peoples Ford
will bring individuals, teams and supporters together to raise awareness of Parkinson’s and the benefits that physical activity, including walking football has for those with the Parkinson’s condition.
Watch as we spend the day with the inspirational players learning more about Parkinson’s condition, how it individually affects each of the players and why being part of Northern Lights Walking Football Club is so important to them all.
