ChongQing is actually most famous for its characteristic mountain city scenery and hot delicious food including Chongqing hotpot, Chongqing noodle and home to many famous Sichuan cuisines in China.

im travelling to chongqing in two weeks time, this video helped to give an insight to the infrastructure there, thanks, i'm surprised that google map still doesnt have the street view of such a developed city

Ahh Chinese subways are the best! And in Chongqing they go high above ground so you can see this amazing city. I could ride it all day.

Not so third world, isn't it? Actually, it's more like first world -- clean city, little pollution, excellent infrastructure ... Chongqing actually is a megacity with a metro population of 18 million, even though it is less known. Per capita GDP would mean very little in this example, only about $8,000 per capita, about on par with India's Mumbai. You don't want to see Mumbai's street scene -- that'd be an insult to all your senses.

Its curious because Chongquing is actually the most populated city in the world but the people in America (the whole continent, not only U.S.A) did not even know this city exists. Well, China is quite fascinating.
