I need to inform everybody that when this video was taken this video was done many many years ago. Almost 10 to be exact. what you see up on 125th street now it's all commercialized and changed.

In the lower Manhattan (where the wealth is) the Chamber of Commerce pays for private companies to keep the streets and sidewalks clean. Then again if people didn't throw and drop garbage it wouldn't look so bad.

Walking from lower Manhattan to Harlem is like starting in a rich white city and ending up in an African poor country. As a European I was blown away by that contrast.

this is the very edge of harlem- 125th street is very safe. walking 'in' harlem would be up in the 130's or higher. thats where things get hairy

I was in Harlem 3 days ago. Got off the tour bus , crossed the road to see the Apollo theatre and was racially abused twice. Needless to say i hopped on the next bus. Dont visit if you're white from my experience
