Lauterbrunnen is a municipality in the Swiss Alps, which includes the village of Lauterbrunnen. It lies in the Lauterbrunnen Valley with its steep cliffs and the 300 metre-high Staubbach Falls. Nearby, the glacier water of the Trümmelbach Falls cascades down the rock face via a gorge and past viewing platforms. A cable car runs from the village of Stechelberg up to the Schilthorn. From here you have a view over the Bernese Alps.
