Love this video! Where do I begin!? Nostalgia !! My mom and mommom used to take me to the Deb shop in that mall! We came from Bucks County just to shop and that store so we would go Bustleton to Large St and hit the mall that way. I used to live in Oxford Circle but moved to Bucks when I was 3 so I grew up going to the North East to visit my family....but we stayed on the Bustleton side. We only went on the BLVD side for the mall and for the library. I don't consider myself from Philly but this area holds a special place in my heart. My friend told me he used to work at the arcade but I don't remember one there🤦‍♀️ Every back to school year, we would buy school supplies at Woolworths and shop that Clover for clothes. I can't believe Jim's isn't there anymore! If I remember correctly, somewhere around there was a PSFS bank? 🤷‍♀️ Thanks for the memories! I will definitely be sharing this video!

Across from that Rita's, I want to say there was a hobby shop there, with model trains and such, near that Kid City. Unless I am imagining it.

6:02 I forgot about that the pretzel stand. We got pretzels there a few times. The MACYS store used to be a strawbridges when I was young and before that in circa 1996 it was a "HEXES" store as seen by a old home video I have from 1996 on my youtube channel.

My parents would never go into that Strawbridges ("macys"), or any of them really claiming they were too expensive. I look at this now, and not only am I glad we never went in, but I didn't miss anything.

Good day happy belated birthday Philly Captain, there you were there on your birthday walking NE Philly Roosevelt Mall Cottman Ave past Bustleton to the Blvd..Oh yes Candid Camera time there with the traffic lights and below on the Blvd Express bypassing Cottman above the Speed Cameras for the motorists..Great video footage as always...Yeah Macys formerly Wanamakers..I cant get over Fratellis Pizza out of business..I used to eat in there years ago..The free Ne Library regional still there and of course what I heard it was called the Pa health clinic or the free health clinic where one or with their family/friends can make a medical pit stop along the way..The Exxon station and Produce outlet still there across from one another by Bustleton and Cottman....Also in the Roosevelt Mall of course Modells sporting Goods to a former Rite Aid where you walked down from the old Modells..Oh yes Artifacts where just by going into that store one whiff of their incense smoke and your already on another level lol 😀... Yes Wendy's, Lens Crafters and the US post office soul retail mall survivors..I also like you recall Sam Goodys record store back in the day as well as Marlo book store where that Rainbow store is today or a store or two down from there...Also a Champions Arcade which faced toward Bustleton Ave from the West side of Mall..Across Bustleton from Mall the old Sears and Pharmor retail store and bargain supermarket back in the day as well..This is where I used to come too own my own and in cruising any of my NE Phila female friends too...Those were the days...After you came out of Macys I didnt notice if there was still a Krispy Creme doughnuts still at the other end of the Mall parking lot by Cottman?..About that gas station food mart convenience store at Blvd and Cottman you mentioned you used to work there back then, that was in 1998 a MOBIL gas food Mart convenience store...You certainly had your share of $$$ jobs Philly Captain..A true diligent working hustler, doing what you have to do... Oh yes at your conclusion I noticed the Blvd and Cottman McDs under a retail facelift until they reopen...So much for a fast drive by Big Mac..lol. Also noticing the 20 Septa bus going Southbound to Bustleton and the to Bridge and Pratt via Frankford Transportation Center...Glad you enjoyed your Steve's Prince of Steaks before filming this video which I left comments and a like as well...Oh Philly Cap next to that McDs which you ended your video off of Cottman is a Four Seasons Diner 24/7...A nice diner as well as good with their food, beverage, salad bar and more..Well that 4 seasons used to be good old Friendlys restaurant which anymore there are very few Friendlys around..Great food, beverage and of course their Ice Cream too..Ok Philly Captain getting closer to your 5k subscriber mark...Hoped you enjoyed your birthday..Your usual Friday night video live from your Captains Corner via home...Until then as well as another adventurous Philly video journey around, have a great Friday into the weekend..Stay safe and be well along with your great Philly Captain family crew...As always TOODLES on...⚓🛳⛵

5:57 - IN 1982 when the Smurfs came out they were huge, there were all sorts of little figures to collect, doctor smurf, radio smurf, etc. Before Turf Club was Doral Catering, and that Wells Fargo was a First Pennsylvania in the 80's.

I remember prior to 2001 when my family lived in Tacony there was a Sears/Phar-mor, a radioshack and before 1999 I think there was a Showbiz Pizza kids place all of those in the Roosevelt Mall. The Sears/Phar-mor my mom and dad would go to at least once a month and it had a esculator I loved riding. And my brother from 1999-2001 would get picked up by my dad when my brother and his friends got dropped off the septa bus from school at the Mall parking lot. I remember 2 times as a kid finding a junked up car with smashed windows and doors in the parking lot of the mall.
