Love this type of video of yours, where you don't really know where you are going, it's just a first day wander for you to see your new area. Walking a new city is such a buzz; seeing architecture, parks, landmarks and noting super markets, cafes, train stations and such. Walk on Gabriel.

Yeah because why would anyone pay attention to someone who had spent one day doing some research? What kind of idiot looks shit up? Why not just watch a video of a guy who's as ignorant as you? He knows nothing about Brussels, you know nothing about Brussels, you'll get along fine.

I was just in Brussels last week and found it to be a charming city. I've heard a lot of people speak poorly of Brussels and complain that there isn't a lot to do there. However, I was intrigued by the historic architecture and cobblestone streets. I felt as though I had traveled back in time and was getting a taste of old Europe when I was visiting the city. I would definitely recommend trying the waffles and chocolate to anyone who plans to visit Brussels.

vangrails, I realize that, but many of the other cities in Europe have a more modern feel to them (such as London and Paris). I found that Brussels maintained more of its historical charm than some of these other cities.

I've lived in Brussels all of my life, it's fun to see a walk-through from the pov of a foreigner. You pointed at a small station entrance in the side of the 'Dynasty building' instead of the actual 'Central station', otherwise you did well. The buildings around the 'Grand Place' were rebuilt within the span of a couple decades after a massive bombardment by French Artillery in 1695 razed or burned them all to the ground, except the town hall, which was miraculously only lightly damaged. The Gothic building across the street lost it's roof, but most of the facade remained standing. The unity in the style of the other buildings isn't due to town planning per se, but simply due to the fact that they were all built at about the same time. The square was a way for the civic powers, traders and master craftsman to show how rich and powerful they were, to visitors and potential enemies, as well as to the rest of the population, hence all the gold plating etc. Watching the other video now...

This was a trip down memory lane for me. What I love about this city is that it has everything that a large city has to offer but is not as hectic as Paris or London. At two million people its a fairly small city. I live in Brooklyn, New York and there are two million people just in my borough. I did day trips to Antwerp & Ghent- both very easy to get to from the central train station.

It is the most beautiful market square in the world (grand place) and behind the strawberries was a gorgeous gallery street too, The main cathedral was indeed BRUSSELS most beautiful town hall 😂. Gabriel, we love your videos, but could you please include more social interactions between yourself and the residents of the cities/countries that you visit? Thanks Gabriel, keep up the good work!

I totally hear you on that. Problem is it's tricky to get local people on camera on the spot. If it happens it happens, but I'm not going to walk up to random people and start talking to them while pointing a camera at them. It has to happen spontaneously. Part of the problem is the fact I don't arrange anything. I just go out there and wander around. And that means I might not necessarily get into a conversation with someone, or if I do then whatever interactions I have are often not while I'm filming.

Hello Gabriel, I don't know how long you will be staying in Brussels. If you are still there by tomorrow, try to go to this flea market/swap meet located right by the Midi train station. It is called "Marche du Midi" and it offers great food at very affordable prices. There is a place that sells some of the best rotisserie chicken I've ever had and great prices. You might also want to try turkish pancakes, moroccan pancakes, and more. It is a very cool place to visit and it only happens every Sunday. Here is the address: Boulevard du Middi 1000, Brussels. It is right outside midi train station(south train station). I hope you can make it and let us know how did you like it. Great travels to you Gabriel!

the food is soooo much better once you cross the border from the Netherlands to Belgium. The Netherlands food just sucks unless its Indonesian 'Rijsttafel' or rice table which is a selection of Asian-style vegetable and meat dishes served in the middle of a lazy susan type table so everyone gets a chance to taste all the dishes. I hate the custom of eating mayonnaise with pommes frites. I love Brussels Sprouts, especially in Spring when they are small and tender. Even the food at the gas stations in Belgium is better than the food in restaurants in the Netherlands.

Well , nowerdays food in the Netherlands has improved a lot but still Belgium cuisine is top in the world! You might compare the Netherlands to England. Food is more sober as is the mentality. Belle Bruxelles, my home town! I love when you try to explain the weird, convoluted culture of Belgium. Yes, the capital is fully in the Flemish region, yet the majority of the population identifies as francophone. The three official languages are Dutch (but everyone speaks the flemish dialect), French (but everyone speaks the walloon dialect) and German, but everyone speaks English! We're honestly just a hot mess.

Well that was a surprise. I thought that if we saw a video at all it would be from Greece. I didn’t think that you could go to Europe and not make some videos. I guess i was right about that. You can still enjoy your quasi vacation maybe cutting back to editing once a week or so. I can’t see you skipping a day without shooting video. Belgium looks like fun. Enjoy the city. Here’s a task for you. Godiva is a fine Belgian Chocolate company. I heard that it is actually made by, or owned by Campbells soup. See if you can verify that with the locals. Chicken Noodle Chocolate doesn’t seem very appealing.

Food is cheaper in Germany compared to the Low Countries. On the Dutch-German border, you often see people crossing the border to Germany to go to a restaurant.

I’m psyched about the playlists but it must have been a lot of work to organize. It will be great to load up a country when I’m on the treadmill at the gym. I’m headed to Portugal in October and South America early next year so those will be up first. Thanks!

First of all, French Fries are BELGIAN Fries! Ours are better :p (that's what I think) And there's a story in which Americans tried fries for the first time, and supposed he was in France so called it French Fries, but we can now tell that he was in the north of Belgium but... that's just a story. In French, we also call Belgian sprouts : "choux de Bruxelles" and I personally hate it. You can see on some windows the pun "Sprout to be Brussels" :)

Brussel sprouts are also called "choux de Bruxelles" in French😄. I tried your link for Roku, arrived on the page to sign in or create an account, but couldn't find your channel...I was using my laptop. Enjoy Brussels !
