I've never been to Thailand. What are the rules for these sorts of places? Any tips to avoid getting scammed or robbed?

Always prefer to go with a friend. Observe the environment, if someone doesn't want to be photographed don't photograph.I haven't gotten into any fights. on the contrary, many encourage filming and wait to see the output.
