Marukai Wholesale Mart:
Marukai Hawaii Co, Ltd. entered the U.S. market in 1965 as a wholesaler of Japanese general merchandise and Marukai branded Japanese foods in Hawaii. In 1987, the company closed its wholesale business and opened its first retail store, Marukai Wholesale Mart. It was Hawaii's first and only warehouse-style discount market focusing on Japanese and Asian products.
Marukai's mission is to perpetuate the Japanese culture for future generations. It is an inclusive mission, welcoming everyone to shop, to experience the fullness of Japanese traditions and to appreciate the flavors and tastes of Japanese foods.
