I've been biking this bike path from Santa Monica to Redondo for almost 40 years. Never gets old

gorgeous and marvelous, pristine beaches, clean waters and sands and everything elso so clean and tidy. really dreamscape and unbelievable that this is real and exists for somebody from germany.

I lived 1 block from the pier 13th place. The year 1985. My husband and i ran the strand every day a very quiet place then . We loved the kettel restaurant which was on Highland 2minutes from our beach house. A great place to live.

2-4x per week I bicycled this stretch 1997-2010. So refreshing and fun! Thanks for the reminder; I need to get back there.

The whole South Bay down there; Hermosa, Redondo, etc. is just a great area to play and party and have fun.

The Strand is officially known as The Strand. It is a pedestrian sidewalk fronting homes beginning in Hermosa Beach and ending at the north end of Manhattan Beach. The "Marvin Braude Bike Trail" is a separate designation for a bike route that runs between Will Rogers State Beach and the Torrance County Beach. The two path designations overlap in Hermosa, where pedestrians and bicycles share the pavement, but The Strand is still officially The Strand. The Strand and the Braude Bike path clearly diverge in this video at 23:28 when the lower (west) bicycle path is obviously separated from the upper (east) sidewalk that is The Strand.

I love running Manhattan/Hermosa in the evening, so chill and empty.

Growing up in the 90254 it sure has changed in 40 years.

I live there all my life until I left at 30 , the size of the houses is mind blowing as a kid this town was just normal working class people at least now a lot of people get to enjoy it and the beach .Thanks really well done.

I used to get off work early in the early 80's and head down to the strand and play hacky sack for hours until my girlfriend would get off work and come down and join me. there used to be a guy there we called, (I think) "Flip Jack". He would walk by and you just called out, Flip Jack and he would do a somersault right then and there. Great days back then man! Great days... Thanks for the tour down memory lane. :-)

Another great walk! I love how the binaural microphones pick up every little details on the walk. Headphone is a must when watching one of your walks. Those sands and beaches make all the coastal towns along the great lakes very envious, but the great lakes have less salt and no Sharks.

Bra, this was amazing for me man! I haven't seen "The Strand" since April 2019, when visiting w/my Mom. We ate at Hermosa - Hennessey's Tavern, great food and drink! We didn't get to walk, but before that, it had been years from checkin' out the Betty's on The Strand! So refreshing to see all walks of life (even if it was filmed in Aug 2019)! You need to do another one. I grew up there in the 70's-80's, then left to join the Air Force in '91. Don't regret the Air Force adventure, but totally missed the beach! If you weren't surfin', boogie boardin', soakin' in the rays, playing volleyball, doin' a little hacky sack, or walkin', talkin' to some girls, joggin', or jammin' to tunes while riding a cruiser or skatin' w/headphones on, then you weren't really livin' in South Bay! And back then, you could drive your car right up to Hermosa Pier, before it was turned into a sidewalk (BOO Hermosa City Council!), though, it does "look" nicer, it was way cooler to cruise up to the pier! Also, back in the 80's, when people walked from the Hermosa Pier to the north, several people would make a pit-stop at 22nd Street's "Green Store" to get a refreshment. That's why all the restrooms on the beach are at that location. Bet you didn't know why they were there!

This is the 3rd video I've watched that claims to show The Strand from Hermosa to Manhattan Beach. Like the others, you didn't start at the wall. You ignored the 1st two or three blocks of Hermosa. Why?

Looks a lot like San Diego s Mission Beach without the trash and empty beer cans..Mission Beach so packed with people and too busy to notice the trash and cans around. This beach is like Saudi Arabia of no trash anywhere...

Its blowing my mind just thinking about what the homeowners had to do to get their yard prepared to grow grass, and maintaining it. That's a lot, lot, lot of work...on a beach.
