Old Quebec is unlike anywhere else in North America. It is so beautiful at any time of the year, but none is more special than at Christmas. The lights, the decorations, and the falling snow, were truly enchanting and magical. It really is a bit of Paris within Quebec City. Thank you for this awesome walk 🤗 For those who watch this video and no not know, Quebce City has a Metro Population of 800,000 and was first settled in 1535 ...almost 500 years ago! Awesome!

Over almost seventy years, some of the best times of my life were spent walking these same streets; sure opens up a flood of memories. Summer, Spring and Autumn in Québec City is okay, but evenings like this? They are very, very special.

Old Quebec is the only place to chill and feel the vibes. Every season in Quebec is beautiful, but the city covered with snow during the Christmas holidays looks amazing. It‘s like a fairytale ✨

If winter wonderland is actually existing I sure that this is the one! This place's vibe is magnificent! Although Quebec isn't a medieval city, it feels like that thanks to small cozy buildings and beautiful narrow streets with no cars. And these decorations, these colorful fairy lights, falling snow... it looks like a some fairytail came to life. I wish I can get here someday... For many years, when I lived in Philadelphia, I would organize ski trips to old Quebec City for Christmas and New Year. This is the most beautiful city in the world to me. It feels exactly like being in France, but closer to home, much less expensive, and the people do not treat Americans badly as they do in France. It’s like a Winter Wonderland to walk around the city, stop in a warm, cozy restaurant for a hot cup of whatever, and watch the snow that is so cold, it shines like tiny crystals. We would get a group rate and stay at the Chateau Frontenac Hotel, the most beautiful and famous building where Winston Churchill and other famous dignitaries signed agreements. Everyone must see this city at least once, and stay at least a week because there is so much to do. In January, they celebrate Winter with a huge carnival which is like Mardis Gras in the snow. Wow, I miss that place so much. Justin Castro imprisoned Canada; no one comes in or out. He must go! I must add that even very late in the evening, as when this video was taken, the town is usually full of people walking around. It’s a very safe city because it’s surrounded by a great, stone wall. Most everyone speaks French and English, and, even when the snow storms are very bad, the streets are cleared quickly by enormous snow plows. One year, there was a terrible ice storm and all of Quebec was stopped because there was no electricity for days; people died and froze, but the Chateau Frontenac never lost power. I think they had huge generators. Quebec is such an exciting place for food, entertainment, clubs, and great ski slopes and ice tubing! If you happen to get sick with the flu, a cold, etc. you just go to a drug store and the pharmacist will recommend something with no prescription necessary. In the USA, you have to go to an emergency room and pay hundreds of dollars. Just thought I’d mention that.

If New England USA is the autumn destination, this is definitely the Christmas destination. It's like a Christmas dream coming to reality. 🎄

Quebec City reminds me of Edinburgh. I think it's the tall stone buildings and cobblestone streets. Both of those things are my jam. Lol. I've gotta go to Quebec one day. The snow really brings it the storybook and cozy appearance to the area. Thank you for sharing!

Leaving Ottawa on Tuesday for 4 days, on the train which is half the fun BTW......Been there many times but we canceled our last trip in 2020, can't wait to get there again! Dreamy! When I was in Quebec City I spent one night in a room on the top floor of a three hundred year old haunted building, another September night sleeping under some bushes on the Plains of Abraham, taking in that old Quebec vibe. A magical place!

Having grown up in Quebec City I have walked these streets many times. I now live on the west coast of Canada but used to go back on a regular basis before the start of the pandemic. I was supposed to be there after Christmas this year after an absence of more than 2 years but had to cancel my trip because of Omicron. The snow and the Christmas lights make the scene quite magical. Un gros merci pour cette vidéo!
