May 1, Walleye action on Lake Erie near Buffalo NY. Got out for a couple of hours with my daughter and got into some nice Walleye.

Hi Eric. 17’ fish hawk. Not the greatest size for Lake Erie. But works as long as the wind isn’t blowing. Appreciate you watching.

Your daughter out fished you Jim. LOL. She caught 2 big ones. That smallie was a giant, I must give you credit for that. Some battle scars on it from spawning maybe. Looked like it was a great day out there for both of you. 👍

Hi Bob. We launched out of safe Harbor Marina. This particular trip was it early in the season so we were still fishing inside the Buffalo Harbor. Thanks for watching.

Hey man I’m pretty new to fishing off a boat typically cast from off shore you got any tips for a rookie trying to catch walleye in generally the same area?

Hi Sal, Buffalo harbor is a great place to fish for walleye in April and may. You could do really well from shore during this time. The fish will move out towards the Canadian line come June and July. I like to use 3/8 ounce hair jigs in spring or stick type baits. I see a lot if guys catching fish from shore during this time. Very nice fish. I live in Cheektowaga and am always looking for nice walleye, pike & musky spots close by. I’m always going out to Allegany area and the horse shoe.

My daughter usually does out fish me!! We had a ball. I get more of a kick out of watching her catch something than catching one myself. Still learning areas to go on the lake and getting better with my electronics. I was bummed my scales battery died and I couldn't weigh the fish. The fish out of Lake Erie are built like tanks from all the gobies. We have it good down here!!
